I have a question on the new MIA EMB base. If they ever open a MIA emb base and I am a NCC can I bid MCE. I know you cant bid back to lower paying equipment, but does this constitue a newbase and equipment provision provided for in the contract. Or do you need both new base and new equipment which was the companies position with FO trying to switch from EMB to the NFC positions.

I don't forsee that as a realistic option. The ord airplanes already fly through Mia. That theory was tried with trans states and now it's back to eagle so I do not see there being a cost advantage for American enough to justify the operational disruptions of bringing in a separate airline.

JFK EMB Fo's were not allowed to bid JFK CRJ FO even though it was new equipment in an existing base. I think ALPA is investigating. I think the company said you can't bid to a lateral pay grade. Captains were allowed to bid it because it pays more in the left seat.

I've heard they overnight and run up to 14 planes in MIA? Don't know the truth to this, but if it's been this way for a while, I guess they've been making it work?
