Well...my pay sheet for this year says that in 7, I already have $18,354. Taxable income $13,515

This month final paycheck is about $1,500 + $730 july 15 check (both of them after deduction) = $2,230 for yourself after deductions.

In june I broke guarantee at the last moment for 9hrs. I don't pick OT, because is not worth it with first year pay.

In June my final paycheck was $1,800 because I finished may with 98 hrs scheduled, including 4 OT in critical coverage. Is not worth the extra work for $300.

you can make more if you work your ass off and have no life though.. The most I've "taken home" in a month after everything on 5th yr FO was $3500 and months like that aren't fun if you ask me.. It pretty much just sucks until you upgrade.. no way around it.

People will say they make 60K as an FO.. I'm sure it's been done but you will be at work ALL the time..

You can definitely make more than 1600 a month take home first year with out breaking your neck; I grossed 30K first year and after taxes saw about 25.5K. Proffer for the higher time four days if on reserve and able to hold them, if a line holder bid conflicts or drop your trips and pick up the ones you want. In your defense I did work a ton of OT the first six months on line however, after I learned how to trip trade effectively I didn't have to and made the same amount. You can take home between 21-2500 first year just boils down to how much you want to work.

Second year you can make up to 45 if you want and also depending on what equipment you are on (more likely on the jets).

2k a month first year take home is a good guess, just when you hit the line you will have one bad month due to the transition and a per diem adjustment

from another forum.

"As of the ALPA interactive seniority list for July 2011, the most junior pilot at LAX is a Feb 2011 hire."

So it'll take me 6 months to get LAX, How long is it going to take me to be off reserve at LAX? I know it is going to be a long time the question is will it be years? Is there anyway to look this up if I'm based elsewhere?

Ya I was in class w the guy its M.C., hes a good friend. It depends man, as of now it is a long time on reserve, like years, but who knows, if those guys come up for ugprade, it is such a small base that it could move the list fast, thats how jfk has been.

That same interactive list shows 61 LAX FO's with only 44 hard lines between them. The flow plan shows quite a few recent base transfers of fo's to LAX. A good dozen and a half of which were hired in the last 3 years

If it helps, I can hold a hard line in any eagle equipment and base with the exception of LAX and JFK ERJ... both are super senior.

The top Reserve FO in LA is a 2000 hire.

The number one FO in LA is a 1988 hire.

I saw the flow plan on this thread about all the FO openings in MIA. Does anyone have any idea how much flying the reserve guys get and how long do you think it would take me to get MIA? Thanks!
