Is Eagle really picking up guys at 800 TT or is it just to attract more resumes & apps & then choosing from them, who to call......... Also, is there any other bases for ATR or is only SJU Im at 841/105 with about 20 turbojet and i havent heard back from eagle at all. HI Did U join the 4/11 class.... What A/C did U chose, ?? Do U know what kind of TT people had who were selected..... Guys pls correct me if I got it correct or if I am missing something........ That choosing ATR is better, one is locked in for only 1 year & if more people leave after a year, which means more people who are senior to you leave ATR , that means when U are 4 or 6 or 8 months senior, you are like at 2 years seniority as compared to CRJ/EMJ, then U have a chance of faster upgrade at ATR, if U stick to ATR Is this correct or everyone else also thinks that way & picks ATR..... Oh...if you fly the rj as an FO and your seniority cannot hold the rj and you bypass the class your salary get stuck until you upgrade. Just pick by base not by equipment, if you are senior enough to choose equipment and base. If you are '86 to '87 model or below most likely your get the ATR somewhere. I was lucky to choose any of the 3 planes ('87 model here). Apr 11 class most junior guy to pick a jet was a '86 model.

Its called not having tunnel vision as lots of you regional guys do. You think this is the only way to mainline. Consider other jobs besides the regional biz... set goals for yourself i.e. 1000 hrs of turbine PIC for starters.

ERMMM... seniority is seniority, you might get a line faster in the ATR but those guys that move from the ATR to the jet in your 1 yr seat lock will get the upgrade before you. Upgrades are by seniority not by airplane seniority.

I've heard that some of them are not passing training and got washed out. So be prepared and study a lot!;) When U refer to models like'86 or '87 are U referring to age of pilots or year of birth??? Pls excuse my ignorance, I am coming back after a long gap..... can U shed more light on Eagle, anything that U may want to share...... |

What A/C & BASE did U get?? How much flying are U getting..... Did U get a line yet..... How's life as a new hire from your perspective...... EMB @ ORD How much flying are U getting..... I'm flying every day that I've been on reserve. Getting close normally to the max hrs can be flow. (30 in 7 days, 100 in last 30 day) I'm averaging about 80 to 90 a month. Did U get a line yet..... No way I can get a line in 2 months... Actually I could get one in SJU ATR or DFW ATR. It going to take me at least 4 to 5 months to get a composite line. Which is a combination between reserve days and line trips. How's life as a new hire from your perspective...... Life as a new hire is not bad, we have a couple of nice overnights, a lot of flying, and fun. Payment is enough to survive every month. Per Diem is the extra money that you can save for the future. If you know someone in one of the bases and you can stay at their place it will be easier for you for that 1st year. Bid by base and try not to commute... |
