Congrats guys! It's good to see they're bringing in some furloughed ex-121 people now. Hopefully we can be a little less worthless than Delta ALPA is acting and actually help some of these Comair FO's who are gonna hit the streets soon.

Ya, I got a feeling that well be seeing a lot of ex-Comair guys coming through headquarters over this next year.

There are several Comair guys that interviewed at the beginning of the year while furloughed and the majority all got rejected.

Cool? Corrected for you. Imagine talking about UAL/CAL or any other long name airline and typing it out over and over and over. Short, simply, and easy. OH

CRJ LGA Layovers

Do any of the CRJ lines out of LGA layover in Atlanta?

Yep, 18 lines in September for the LGA CRJ total, 4 of them are day trip lines. The other 16 lines all have at least 1 ATL overnight per sequence. You shouldnt have any problems getting an ATL overnight if you want one.

Thanks. That's what I was hoping.

18 lines total in CRJ LGA? How many CRJ FOs are based there? Is everyone on reserve?

Im showing 9 guys on reserve. I think some of them are TDY from ORD/DFW. There are lots of LGA CRJ FOs in the training pipeline due to come online in the next month or two, but they are still way understaffed.

ATR is an awesome airplane..and the island flying is second to none.

The problems with Eagle's island flying is the 9 hour over nights..pretty much everywhere you go.it's only 9 hours. Not so much fun :(

But the views..oh my!

It is sooo hard to predict future upgrade times if you were hired today. Right now, the CAs upgrading on the jet have been here 9+yrs and the ATR CA slots are at about 7yrs. I would be prepared to be in the right seat for 8yrs+ before upgrading if you got hired today.

We are getting some new CRJs, but we are shrinking in other areas. We also have contract negotiations coming up at the end of 2012, that can be a tough time for any growth or movement. APA is currently in negotiations for their contract, and that specifically stipulates what/how/where we can fly. So keep an eye on what happens from that. Who knows what the economy and business travel trends will do, but that generally correlates to how the airline industry as a whole performs.

you don't think 2012 will decrease upgrade time? Yes at current rate i agree with upgrade times.... but things should be changing here pretty soon. Agreed?

Yeah, with tons of 50 seaters, and no ability to get larger planes, and the average senority range to hold CA, and the pay associated with it, I don't see a warm and fuzzy future. I think that is the next hurdle before even worrying about upgrades.

I dont know about the 145's, but i think the 82 airframes of 135's and 140's have their days numbered.:( Hopefully the 244 that are supposed to go to AA get there soon!!!

are you suggesting the QOL is better at other regionals? If so which ones? (honest question not trying to be a d!ck)

Unlimited thanks to the former TWA and AA dudes I flew with that encouraged me to bail when I did. I really liked Eagle, the crews, the equipment and the bases... But Holy Cow 7 years was a long time to wait for the end of a contract and the unknown abyssal of negotiation. Not sure life is greener at any regional, however very grateful for the quality training that Eagle provided. I was never forced to fly a POS and never once saw a crews judgement questioned.

XForces 09-08-2010 11:35 PM

For those of you that have spent time on reserve at Eagle, I was wondering about the two hour call out.

How often do you get the call with only two hours to show? Do you more often know ahead of time that a call might be coming your way, or will scheduling sometime call you for a trip well in advance of the actual trip time (i.e. greater then two hours)?
