Thanks... Yes I was talking about the monthly bid. Thanks!

Since you are new, and you are learning how to bid the best thing you can do is block bid all the flying lines, then bid the composite lines and then finally bid the RSV lines as you find them fit, ensure you bid them all exempt the S1 and S3 lines. No need to prioritize the flying lines since more than likely you won't get one and if you do it will be what is left.

HIB then you will select the option that states start a sequence I believe it's option 5. Once you have bid the lines make sure you select option 11, that is where you will select transition and composite line to yes. Then you will select option 9 i believe that is to close the ballot... Ensue you close the ballot and then print it by putting entry HIB/*

If you have any questions make sure you ask someone, not bidding correctly could make it for a miserable month. Remember the bids close tomorrow at noon DFW time.

Thanks for all that, I got it all working. When will the results be posted?

I did it because I was an idiot and didn't know any better. I was just trying to get a specific day off. When I realized I was awarded my first choice, I knew something wasn't right. Then I realized my huge mistake. It was S-1 also so I was waking up at 345 every morning!

They used me every day but 2-3 days. Most were just turns with only 3 or 4 overnights. I live in base so it wasn't terrible but I was glad to see that month end. So now I'm on a mission to make sure it doesn't happen to another newbie.

Did you at least go straight to the dark room after signing in and get some sleep? My one and only time on S-1 that is what I did. Woke up around 10am and got some breakfast in D terminal (DFW).

How is November looking for you?

Yes I did get the pre offer.(eagle) The PDT thread, I let my friend put it up since he couldn't.(account wouldn't work) So it looks like it's me but I'm just a source for him to get some more info on PDT.

I have a serious question for all you Eagle pilots with family's and/or responsibilities. In December of 2007 I was hired with ExpressJet and was told to expect a class in January, well the economy tanked and long store short, I quit a descent flying gig for ExpressJet and class eventually cancelled, so I was out of a job. I ended up changing careers to please my wife (now ex) and became a cop. I have been a cop for a couple years now and really enjoy it but miss being a pilot even more. I applied with Eagle in August and was offered a job on September 15. I have a mortgage, child support and a ton of bills courtesy of my wonderful (sarcasm) ex-wife. I know I will be taking a substaintial pay cut for the first couple of years at the airlines and I am ok with that. My question is with all the rumors with AMR filing for chapter 11, is it a good time for me to quit another decent job only to have class cancelled or make it through training only to be one of the lucky ones to be furloughed. What would you do? This is my first post and would really prefer only mature responses. Thanks in advance!

Texas, I was a cop too, CMPD. Once you get away from all the bs, politics, paper work, dealing with whining stupid people, you will not miss it at all. At least I don't. The pay for the first few years at a regional sux tho. But as a captain at Eagle will make a little over $130 this year. And if you do truly miss being on the force, become a reserve officer somewhere. I have actually flown with a couple of guys who do that. It is the pay for the first couple of years I would be worried about. Good luck to you.

It will be more like 4-5 years before your pay is equal.
