I don't know who you are or who the others are on here. If we flew together, we probably got along well and had a good time. My comment is aimed at this childish back and forth that goes on here. It's the crew lounge speculation and rumor all over again, with attitudes which develop over WHAT SOMEONE ELSE SAYS. Sheesh, I stand by my original viewpoint, which quoted your post, yet was intended for a much broader audience. I don't know "Lori" or "Susan", so I'm not certain of what you speak. If I do indeed know you, hope you are well.

Hey Eagle guys, what's going on with SJU? I did a trip down there and it looks dead, not to many airplanes. Are they closing the base?

Although the company hasn't officially said, it will be closed by March. I think there's only like 7 or 8 airplanes flying down there now. Maybe even less. It's sad.

Eagle on their website is calling for a reduction of 400 pilots. Now, what it doesn't specify is if that's for Eagle, mainline, or both. My guess is both. However, what is strange is that Eagle just picked up 30 new routes, including at least 1 new canada destination, KYKT, Kitchner, Canada... I guess we'll just wait and see...

The 400 pilot thing was from back when AMR said they're cutting 13,000 jobs.

The same 400 pilots that have forced the airline to cancel a large number of flights recently and adjust the summer schedule because everyone is "getting surgeries" over 50 retired earlier this month!
