No OT. If you're close to the bottom of the pile, watch out for JM's.

so this is what I am told the union is telling everyone.

1.they are looking for a fleet plan, and AMR has a plan for Eagle, they are not expecting massive furloughs, but short term there might be some pain, however the company is looking long term and is trying hard to hold onto staffing.

2. next spring we might see hiring due to the changes in laws, attrition, and other factors.

3.we will get ejets most likely, sounds like the 135/140s will go back at a 2 to 1 ratio for whatever comes. AMR has a deal with the bank of brazil.

4. someone has a deal for a small number of 50 seat flying for AA, pending the contract is tossed. Sounds like it might be about the size of the CHQ contract ending in the spring. I would think its XJT.

5.The union actually is trying to say PBS is a good thing. HAA

6. Team tony the management puppets are basically already road showing what we are running to the company to give up, and trying to make it sound like its a good thing.

cliff notes: expect to see another round of voluntary leaves this fall, and if the company needs to whipsaw a little they might furlough another 50 pilots, otherwise we will most likely have to hire next year due to attrition, new planes, more training bubbles, etc. ATR 135/140 will all be gone by the end of 2013 and expect another oh say 50, 70 seaters. The union wants a fleet plan and thinks they can get it for say 5 years for 250 planes, which is good since it might be something we can keep in a USAIR merger down the road.

All above is subject to change, and just the cliff notes I have heard is coming out of the union.

Are most Eagle pilots for or against a US merger?

I would say hoping it does not happen short term, for one our union sucks and is not engaged at all in that process as they sleep with current management. Second we have a dated fleet of 135/140s that are going away, we need to get some 70 seaters to offset this or else we will feel a major pain. Best case for Eagle is get a written 5-10 year contract with AA, which it seems they want to give us since they want to spin us off. Get an ASA for 250 planes, including have an order/trade in placed with the bank of Brazil for EMJ70+ seaters and we would be all for the USAIR merger at that point. 175 EMJ145s, 50 CRJ700s and 50 EMJ175s would be the best bet for Eagle, all ordered with an ASA with AA. But thats the dream wish.

I heard (again another rumor) that AMR isn't expected to renew a contract with CHQ..anyone else hear the same?

Bedford himself that he doesn't see it being renewed. But that's not to say there's not something else in the works with 175s or something.
