It would be fine by me, are you still flying the PC-12?

I can tell you that's not going to happen. I left last May and tried to come back in November if they would adjust my seniority date by the 6 months I was gone. Was flat told that that will never happen. Did offer me the job but I would have to start back at the bottom. Let's see, bottom of a seniority list at an airline that is already hurting for pilots and more pilots leaving everyday and a dried up pipeline? No thanks. I'd be on the bottom for a very long time.

I am. Not the fastest thing around, nor a very good resume builder as it turns out .

...but it's fun as hell to fly.

...and I get 2 weekends off a month.

Tell the cell phone and its auto correct that. You don't actually go on here from a computer do you?

So it's impossible to spell correctly with a phone. Gotcha.

Why did you bail?

I was tired of the threats of furloughs and the fighting between management and the union. I was tired of hearing that we probably wouldn't pass the check ride on our first try. Flying the ATR was the best job I have ever had and I'm over 50. It was the best group of people I have ever worked with. I had some personal issues at the time and something had to go and the quickest unload was Eagle. Soon after I resigned the issue was solved. I resigned on a Monday and tried to come back on the Friday of the following week but it was late in the evening and I didn't know who to call. Called a couple of numbers and left a message but when Monday hit my 2 weeks was up. When I was away from it for a short time I realized I probably made a rash, uninformed decision. Oh well. It is what it is.

Should used FMLA or other ALPA resources. Didn't you have anyone in the know to advise you?

I spoke to my instructor briefly without getting too much into detail about my situation and ask about a LOA and was told that wasn't an option. Looking back I made several mistakes. I take full responsibility for my decisions. I have great memories of my time at Eagle flying the ATR. But it all works out.

We recently sold our house in Texas. Took less than 2 weeks. We have owned property in Oklahoma since 2000. We decided to move to our place in Oklahoma which is near a small town of 3000. Went into the bank to say high to one of the owners and as we were talking I mentioned that I had flown for Eagle. He ask me if I would want to do some flying for him. He is buying a PC-12 and needs a pilot. Who would have thunk it. Things have a way of working out. Granted I don't have the job yet but it looks promising. I still miss Eagle though.
