Colgan Staffing question
#72
It may not be a bad thing to lose a few EAS routes for the Saab. There is going to be so much growth over the next 3 years any flying lost will not be felt in staffing, we are going to need many pilots in the years to come and a loss in a few EAS routes may limit the need for street ca's down the road...if it comes to that.
Hey, thanks a lot for the assist with the syntax, grammar and spelling lesson. Personally, I could care less if this turd of an airline actually succeeds in the long-term. And, for the record...I have ALREADY had the upgrade...HAVE 2000+ PIC turbine and have NO ambition to "move onto a major". There is no major airline on my horizon, and if I didn't have to be here now for the second time I sure as hell wouldn't be. So, thanks again for your input and display of pompous ignorance, because obviously you don't work at 9L (lucky for you)...Probably another XJET tool that's dragging in that POS Brazilian ramp FOD at 140 knots on a 10-mile final...

Not sure where I work has an bearing on those two statements. As for the future of your airline, nobody knows that; not you, not me and probably not even your management. Circumstances are always changing, will that affect Colgan pilots in a negative way? I have no idea, maybe the new united will choose Colgan to fly 175/190's. This industry is one big crap shoot, I just hope that Colgan pilots will get a contract soon and a contract they can be proud of.
Now which part of that did you disagree with besides where I work?

This might be the best statement you've made in a while, lol ... every airline has toolbags ... it's just the way it goes. But you can't group the entire pilot group of an airline into the "toolbag" group just because of a select few

not trying to start a flame war or anything.. just looking for some recent info.
I was called for an interview by Ashley from HR last week. She said there werent any firm dates yet but around the 24th. Has anyone else got a call? I just would like to plan ahead and get the time off.
Also... can any new hires say when they are having training classes? for which bases and aircraft? are they still putting people in the outstations? do they match 401k? do you get a hotel on overnights (I used to work for pacific wings and we had to sleep on a couch)? I am guessing I probably don't have to load bags and deice my own aircraft as well right???
I am just trying to get a feel for things. Any new hire info would be great. I am going to the interview, I just don't know whether to take the job. Fueling planes now pays more than when I worked at PW.
