Hiring huh? That's quite different than recalls there Don.

When has that buffoon ever gotten the story straight? What does the VP of "Delta Connection" actually do anyway? There is no company called "Delta Connection". It is nothing but a brand! Why do they need a specific VP to put out press releases? Typical Delta inefficiency. No wonder Airtran is killing them.

and in other news, Pinnacle continues not to hire for god knows what reason.

Sorry if this has already been discussed...

What are your current recalls getting in terms of ground/sim training and how long have these furloughs been out on the street?

Can't answer your first question. But, the guys/girls coming back were notified of their furlough on the day ATL had it's busiest day in history with an effective date in Nov. I think. So, what, 7 months or so?

Spoilers - Good bid, but you left out Poet Lauret, veterinarian and General Council to Brittish Petroleum. And where did you get that avitar....priceless.

Bug Smasher 06-05-2010 03:53 PM

The effective date on all recalled furloughs was Sept. 1 2009.. 9 months on the sidelines. I just started my recurrent ground training online, then there will be a day of HR stuff, 2 days of RGT classroom, then a few (projected 2) sim sessions, a PC and IOE until deemed competent by the instructor.

I wasn't even close! I have no idea why Nov is stuck in my head. When was the first round effective? Feb I think?

Ummm, perhaps you didn't notice that AirTran has DECREASED their flights in and out of ATL? I don't think you can say AirTran is killing Delta. The two airlines aren't even comparable because of their completely different business/operating plans.

Also, did you read the part of the memo that says Compass WILL be hiring? Pure fact, not inaccuracy. And I also believe he referred to each airline by their name, and called Atlantic Southeast a 'Delta Connection' carrier. Also, Atlantic Southeast is a part of Delta's inefficiency or efficiency.

Hey Johnso29, do you know what the Airtran loads are for Narita, Beijing, Paris, Moscow, and Heathrow?

I'm thinking all of them are 0 seats available because there are 0 flights available.:p

Airtran must be killing Delta on those flights.
