Heard some of the furloughs are choosing bypass, because they know they probably will have to go to IAD or be on the 200. Seems kind of presumptuous to me.

Personally, I'd be really surprised if I didn't end up in IAD if I hadn't bypassed. Had better reasons to do so and I would bet that no one made that their sole reason for choosing to bypass either!

Final list shows 16 bypasses. Looks like some more letters will be going out.

Congrats to those who made it back! Hopefully the company will offer up the two remaining spots!

A lot of the bypasses are probably due to the fact that they're making more money doing something else. I'd milk that too as long as I had a seniority number. Might as well wait until the rest of the furloughs are called and get yourself back to poverty for the shortest amount of time. Just makes sense doesn't it?

......wait a minute...people can make money outside aviation? Embry-Riddle never told me that!

Anyone have any idea when these 42 pilots are scheduled to be trained and back on line? Makes no sense to me with the position notice showing the vacancy for 10 CA and 10 FO on the 700/900 and 4 total vacancies for the 200 for a total of 24 vacancies system wide. Not sure if anyone has any details as to when the 4 aircraft will be added to the schedule. They never really said anything with certainty.

The first recall class started today. The 4 Horizon airframes are shown going into service in the middle of July as 70 seaters (no first class).

Class dates offered were June 9, 14, 22 and July 5. I lost my email on this so don't quote me but I think training was to be brief - a little less than two weeks. Four days of ground and four sims if I remember right.

Looks like the mainframes are going to be former SKW 700s, which were former ASA(701 etc)

Spoke with a friend who spoke with a union guy. It looks like ASA may be getting atleast 4 of Qx's RJ's.
