Personally, I'd be really surprised if I didn't end up in IAD if I hadn't bypassed. Had better reasons to do so and I would bet that no one made that their sole reason for choosing to bypass either!

A lot of the bypasses are probably due to the fact that they're making more money doing something else. I'd milk that too as long as I had a seniority number. Might as well wait until the rest of the furloughs are called and get yourself back to poverty for the shortest amount of time. Just makes sense doesn't it?

Anyone have any idea when these 42 pilots are scheduled to be trained and back on line? Makes no sense to me with the position notice showing the vacancy for 10 CA and 10 FO on the 700/900 and 4 total vacancies for the 200 for a total of 24 vacancies system wide. Not sure if anyone has any details as to when the 4 aircraft will be added to the schedule. They never really said anything with certainty.
