How about the model Southwest and AirTran has, no regional. Oh yea that usually turns a profit.

I was just saying if you're going to associate yourself with a regional, better to associate with just one company.

Yes. He is correct. They are flying them on an 'at risk' contract, which means if the route makes $$$ Skywest makes $$$. However, if the route loses $$$ then Skywest loses the $$$. It's not a fee for departure contract.

Management may be many things but stupid isn't one of them. They all learned from the Comair strike. No one contractor group will ever be so empowered again.

Agree, but management could have given in to Comair ALPA proposals, which weren't that unreasonable at the time. But they decided to lose $3 million/ day for like 90 days instead.

I don't think RAH wants eagle for the fact that it is an old, expensive, weighed down carrier. There is nothing innovative or exciting about Eagle. The ERJ fleet is outdated and lags behind the competition. However I have heard that Embraer is very interested in trading say 1 190 for 2 135's to be converted into Legacies. I guess we'll see, the 135-145's can't weigh eagle down much longer. Something will happen soon.

I really doubt that. What corporate flight department would want such high cycle airframes?

Here they languish, it's sad really. According to AMR's 10K last year the 135's were fully depreciated and not viewed as having enough residual value for sale.
