Really? Or will you be one bidder, in a sea of many bidders? Jerry has an easy contract negotiated right now. If we go Ch. 11 there are no guarantees he gets the same contract that is currently on the table with CAL/UAL. Thats how CAL can get a CPA for cheaper, you see. Dont you remember, we underbid Skywest the last time around, and someone will underbid you the next time around, if there is a next time around. Surely you know this though. Easy on the arrogance, we are all on the same team here. Pilots helping pilots is all we want out of this.

We were fine before the announcement of this possible merger, and we will be fine if it doesn't happen.
It's you guys decision. You can get on board and help make ASA/XJET a powerhouse (then go after SkyWest at a later date) or you can fall on your swords for ALPA. But I for one am glad to hear that Jerry is not going to let you guys tie this up in litigation forever.
Either get on board or get left out. That's the way SkyWest does things. Get used to it or take your chances alone.

My suggestion to XJT (for what's worth, not much) would be to do what you have to do to make the deal happen (within reason). Once on board, you can tighten things up with the ASA group quickly and then work on the SKW group.
With the NMB rule change, and certain other issues at SKW, alpa is much more likely going forward. Even without a union, the two groups could agree on many things. While INC would technically not have to honor an agreement made by non-union SKW with ASA/XJT, it would ludicrous for them to not do so...that would pretty much guarantee a SKW union.
There are some very senior SKW CA's (mostly in the west) who are very happy with what they have, and pretty vocal about not rocking the boat. But the other 70% of us are a lot more pragmatic and would welcome a reasonable integration.

You think jerry will just let this go do you? Then why 2 attempts in the last 4 years to get this CAL flying? Skywest Inc. acquiring XJT is very important for the success of the holding company. They dont want XJT bidding on anymore united flying. We underbid everybody on the ORD flying, sadly. Im pretty sure that flying would have been skywest's if we werent in the picture. Jerry is not on your side, he is in it for the cash/control. It just seems at this present time, that you are on the right side. There are no guarantees though in this business. I hope this all works out for all of us.

XJT is on life support, your ceo is basically there to trim the fat and sell the company. Your own managment has said you can't make money in your current state. The buyout is the only thing keeping you out of the unemployment line.

Your partially right. However, the buyout doesn't necessarily have be a Skywest buyout, we would happily accept any other company's offer as long as they are willing to play ball with our contract. Your so arrogant. Its Skywest's battle to lose too. Boy the tables would be turned if some other company came in and bought us, and honored our scope (example: RAH and F9 merger). I dont want to sound arrogant here, but that CAL contract is gold to Skywest, especially in a post CAL/Merger environment.

Rah can't buy you right now and I doubt they would want you. Pncl has its hands full with mesaba now. Maybe tsa would buy you.
Works for me, I'd be happier if you guys weren't part of us.

How do you suppose we do that if people like you want nothing to do with one list? Jerry will use ASA against Non union Skywest to keep wages down and contracts within limits, that is a fact. I say that again only to help you realize what XJT pilots are really worried about.

So would I. It seems all you guys do is beat your chests. Too much drama, and not interested in 2800 pilots who want to burn down the company. That's bad for my career.
