I posted this on another board, but please let me try to explain why I'm content it was extended.

Because of working rigorously from 8AM to 11PM for 9 days straight to try to get this done right, we had a guy break out in hives along with some other physical ailments because of this process. There was a legitimate concern the physical and mental condition of other negotiators as well! No harm in recognizing this to say a break might not be a bad idea.

Also, the frank matter of fact is that from working so hard, people were going a little 'star crazy' with the language. With that in mind, and a handful of open items left, instead of rushing to meet the deadline, it was prudent to let everyone go home, take a break, clear the minds, and finish up on the issues to deliver the contract that we ALL want moving forward. The negotiations have been positive, moves have been made, let us refocus our efforts to close this up November 30th to December 2nd.

Are you by chance a union rep?

not being there, i've got faith that negotiators from three different airlines saw a good reason to take a break and resume later in the month. The last thing i want is some dead tired union negotiators giving in at the last moment and compromising just to get it done. Get there-itis doesn't help the pilot's cause at this point.

Hmmm sounds quit a bit like line flying... Taking a break for health concerns... how about the guys/girls who do this for 6 days get 2 off and then do it again for another 6 and on and on and on..
Why not give us a break?
Will not happen since the company just put out 200% pick ups for 20th to 30th.
Im not bustin your ***** , Im just saying that at 9E we are not allowed to get sick but the company can take a 15 day break because they are tired.
We have heard this story to many times... I have Zero faith that this will get done by Dec 2.
Do you really think 9E mngment wants to get this done? (real question)

I know you guys are working hard. Its the other side Im concerned about.

I believe they need it done as bad or worse than we do, and from the negotiators I have spoken with, management is working hard to get this done also.

Thanks for all your hard work.

The other point about the extension to a later date, I should make is that we had about 20 people on the ALPA side there; management has about 10 or so.

With this last minute extension, travel, hotels, etc., next week would be extremely difficult for negotiations.
