The PNCL MEC has rolled over and taken it for far too many years now. They need to actually get off their hump and DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!! QUIT TELLING ALL YOUR UNION MEMBERS WHAT THEY CAN'T DO, TELL THEM WHAT THEY CAN DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I posted this on another board, but please let me try to explain why I'm content it was extended.
Because of working rigorously from 8AM to 11PM for 9 days straight to try to get this done right, we had a guy break out in hives along with some other physical ailments because of this process. There was a legitimate concern the physical and mental condition of other negotiators as well! No harm in recognizing this to say a break might not be a bad idea. Also, the frank matter of fact is that from working so hard, people were going a little 'star crazy' with the language. With that in mind, and a handful of open items left, instead of rushing to meet the deadline, it was prudent to let everyone go home, take a break, clear the minds, and finish up on the issues to deliver the contract that we ALL want moving forward. The negotiations have been positive, moves have been made, let us refocus our efforts to close this up November 30th to December 2nd. |

They just offered 200 % for all open time pickups from the 20th to the day before they negotiate again the 29th. If you are thinking about picking anything up please re think it. Your short term gain is not worth the long term pain everyone else will have. Let the reserves that this company PLANNED to have cover this flying. I fear no one will listen but now is the time. We need more pilots and we need a new contract

In your opinion, does this REALLY stand a chance of getting wrapped up by December 2nd?

This is nothing other than a technique used by management to ensure the Thanksgiving holiday goes without any problems. You believed it for five years, you believed the 45 days, now 3 days seems probable to you? We will all be discussing this December third. Don't get caught up in the propaganda, this plays right into their hands. I ask again, when is enough enough? This "we don't have the tools to change anything, we are spread out, our flying isn't concentrated enough" type of thinking is the reason the pilot group is still in the position it has been for years. Spread the word, communicate and explain the situation to your peers, you'll have the chance while you're junior manned on Thanksgiving as your "good faith" management team is at home with their families. Take a step back and see what this really is!
