Any updates as to where the first class is in training? How about the second class? Aircraft assignments and domiciles? Would love for all of you to be CRJ-ATL!!

This is just such great news. I'm glad to see more and more airlines hiring, especially good ones like ASA. So I take it ATL is short on crews then?

No, ExpressJet is still controlling their own hiring. ASA had some vacancies and offered them to XJT furloughed guys before hiring off the street.

As of right now, yes. But when XJT starts hiring next FEB/MARCH, interviews and hiring will be done in ATL by ASA.

Hiring After the New Year

To follow-up on what "Trip-7" said (who was sitting across from me in the same meeting), after the first of the year, all hiring for both XJT and ASA will be combined into one operation from ATL. They told us new hires will be assigned a domicile based on the needs of the combined company, XJT and ASA.

On a side note, they also told us that no decision on uniforms has been made yet, but strictly speaking from a financial stand point, they said it would be easier for ASA to go gold instead of making XJT go silver, since they out number us. Which is fine, but we told them we’re definitely not doing those tacky looking embroidered wings.

Just as a heads up to everyone. ASA just added a number of questions to their addendum so take a look at it.

Another question on the addendum " Ever have to do a 709 ride ?" . If an applicant answers yes is that a rejection like failed check rides have become . I know a guy who had to take one when the D.E. was investigated by the FAA . It was not anything of his doing . he passed the recheck .

Thanks for the heads up! So having updated the ASA addendum on airlineapps......here's a question for everyone who wishes to indulge and opine......what are the chances of getting just a call for an interview if.......1) I have failed a total of 4 checkrides out of the 12 (not including line checks or proficiency checks/annual currency) i have taken over the course of my career. And 2) my resume was walked in and handed to D.R. about a week ago by a buddy of mine.

The 4 failures were my first 4 checkrides early in my career and were on the first attempt and i have never failed the oral portion of any checkride. Thanks guys and all the best.

No offense intended, but I think your chances are slim considering we are still dealing with the repercussions of the Colgan crash. I can't imagine any regional taking anyone with a bust right now.

Yeah but they can't knock a guy for having just 1 failed checkride...esp the CFI ride. Most pilots I know who instructed busted that ride on their first attempt...just saying.
