Default Thinking About Applying To American Eagle

Hey Guys,
Havent been on the forums for quite sometime given the economy and the industry, but it appears some regionals have been opening up there doors to hiring.

I have been thinking about getting on with American Eagle, and was wondering what the likelyhood of landing a spot in MIA was.

Anyone work there know what the current situation is for MIA recruiting, or are they specifically hiring for other bases?

After reading through this forum, I REALLY don't want to commute and would like to try and live on base (I'm about 1.5 hrs from Miami)

Any other info you'd like to share about AE would be helpful. Thanks.

Robert

Just apply, and go interview. You can always turn it down later assuming you are offered the job.

We are opening an ERJ base in MIA and we also have an ATR base there. If you don't get MIA on Day 1 of training then there is a good chance you could transfer to MIA within 1-3 months of finishing training.

I'm kind of in the same predicament. I'm currently flying for a 135 operation, and I would like to get ORD as a base, since I live in Chicago, and currently commuting to my other gig. If I for some reason turn down their offer/job (granted I get it) will it bar me from ever re-applying?

And you fly a Lear 60? You'd take all the hits in pay and career movement to go to ORD?

Don't bring the truth in here.

Yeh, I'm a first year FO at my gig, based out of TEB...that's why I'm trying to take the pay cut now rather than a few years down the line. For me it'd be about QOL, 2 weeks on call/1 off doesn't leave too much time at home. At least Eagle would give me (hopefully) a Chicago base, more days off per month at home...even though the planes are slower and climb restricted j/k.

History here has always had positions open in ORD. Or if you couldn't hold it initially, you could probably get the transfer before you even finished training in some cases.
