you sir are wrong... he has worked there as well as I.. long enough to realize what this place is about. If the industry was in better shape they wouldn't be able to keep people at all. you must be in with upper management big time.
I bet if GK told you to jump off a bridge you would go right ahead and do it.

Yep. I remember this place a few years ago when everyone was hiring. They were taking low timers, people that shoulndn't be anywhere near airplanes, airline training failure cases, dui cases, just plain idiots that could not go anywhere else. I feel for those experienced people that are looking at this place now due to the state of the industry. Avoid this place, it's really the bottom of the bottom, I don't even know why this thread is in the regionals section.

Well your not the chief pilot cause he would never say ass, it offends him. You could be GK though? If you are well there are so many words that a handful of us on here would share, but the moderators would shut this down real fast, but we do hope your life is filled with misery, which Karma will take care of that im sure. Of course if your not GK, then I wish you the best at PW, and I don't wish misery on you at all. Your experience at PW will be just that, an experience in which you will learn from. Oh, is it possible to keep my bet in place through say...december....double or nothing?

I'm not GK. But I've been with PW for a while and frankly I have never had any problems with GK or anyone in management. I knew what I was getting into when I accepted the job and the truth is this job has not been nearly as bad as some people say it is. I actually enjoy the flying, had never had anyone pressure me into flying when I decided was unsafe or illegal (cancelled flights for wx more than a few times), the mechanics I work with have never, ever pencil whipped anything (they take their job very seriously and are very safety oriented folks). As a matter of fact, it's a little insulting to hear what some people say here about PW's mx. I know these guys and they sure don't deserve the reputation some are preaching here.
Now, of course they could improve pilots QOL with some effort. It's far from being a retirement job. But if someone is unemployed and wants to work for an "okay" company, please go out and try it for yourself. Despite what people say, it has worked out for me and others too. Some pilots, have been with PW for 3 years and won't be moving until a very good opportunity come their way. Management knows and expects that. This is a time/experience building job.
As far as salary goes, PIC 1st year is 32.5k + 1k (6 month bonus) + 1.5k (12 months bonus), 2k (18 months) and the same every 6 months thereafter. They also provide up to 1k moving allowance (not much but it helps) and $200 uniform reimbursement every year.
Do your best to get your pax's from A to B. Learn the difference between uncomfortable/unsafe and you should be fine.
This is how I see it. Am I blind? Some here will say so.
Take care and forgive me for being rude on my first post on this thread.

Hockeypilot44, I'm curious, what kind of real pilot job do you have?
Never mind. A real pilot part 121 Delta job. I want to be just like you when I grow up.
*Dreaming*

Settle down. It's a somewhat anonymous message board. Pacific Wings is a pretty bad job to have. If you're alright with that more power to you. Hopefully, you have some other sort of income. It's sad that professional pilots now have to do things on the side to just make a living.
