I was talking to a Pacific Wings crew recently in Georgia. I think it was Pacific Wings. If not, it was Pacific West. I can't remember. The first officer said he is working five 12 hour duty periods/week for $16,500/year. He was hoping to get on at Colgan or Compass. After talking to him further, I found out he's a college dropout. He seemed disappointed when I told him Compass was out of the question. He also seemed confused when I told him he'd be better off quitting flying than taking a job at Colgan or continuing what he's doing. It amazes me what people will do for a little flight time. This kid couldn't have a second job as he was working 60 hour weeks.

One guy has 2000tt the with 800hrs Turbine PIC, face it SIC time in the caravan doesnt count.
The other guy has 2000tt with 800 multi time (chieftan with AMF) time.

Who do think would have the upper hand just given the time breakdown??? I'd go with the AMF'er hands down...
really? What about the cfi's who were selected over the furloughed 121 guys with jet and turbine time? How do explain that?

The furloughed 121 guys with turbine time are the first to leave. The company wants someone they can keep around for a good length of time.

Do their overnights still consist of sleeping in the terminal?

You missed my point. And my point is, sic caravan time is enough to get you in door for an interview. Reread his post!

On a side note, who came up with that "see-ya" out in Boston
