You want professional courtesy, look to national. Whether they agree with out picketing or not, they are doing to professional thing by saying they support us or nothing at all. The Colgan and Mesaba MEC's are a total disgrace. Has one ALPA MEC ever told it's members NOT to support another ALPA group before? Dispicable.

Your just never going to let it go are you? The way I see it is, the 9E MEC failed to support 9L and XJ when they felt that the timing was wrong for picketing at this time. Why is it this support thing you speak of only one sided? Two of three Is a majority, so let it go and realize that mistakes may have been made on both sides. Have you read the posts by your own Scott Erickson on here? Something doesn't add up.

This is the actual message we received...
As some of you may have heard, the Pinnacle MEC is planning a number of informational picketing events commencing on Friday, December 10, in Memphis, TN. Informational picketing can be a very productive tool during bargaining when we have reached an impasse. Considering the progress at the bargaining table this week, we believe it would be counter-productive to engage in picketing. While we respect the Pinnacle MEC’s point of view, we are asking all Colgan pilots to refrain from picketing at these events. We need to remain focused on our goal of “One Contract, One Seniority List.”

Why doesn't the pinnacle MEC respect the majority's point of view? Also notice it doesn't say we dont "support" pinnacle. The wording was chosen carefully

You just don't get it. The right thing to do would be to say NOTHING! We don't have to ask your permission to picket, we have been dealing with this for nearly 6 years. You guys should be out there with us because we all want this JCBA, but your MEC just doesn't get it. Again, show me some time in history when one ALPA MEC has told thier pilots NOT to support another pilot groups picket.

There is number 5.... They (national) weren't asked for support in MEM.

Sure, it doesn't come right out and say it. That's why the wording is the way it is. The tone and context, however, speaks volumes. Telling the Colgan pilots to not join 9E guys on the picket line is essentially saying that the MEC doesn't support 9E. It's not in black and white, but it's strongly implied. If it wasn't meant to be implied, then wording of the statement is done VERY poorly and does nothing but muddle up the situation. If my MEC sent this to me, I'd be on the phone with my rep saying "Okay....so we support them, but you don't want us to show unity? Which is it?" You can't have your cake and eat it, too.

I'm a little baffled that National wasn't contacted for help in MEM, but I hope we're trying to use that avenue for JFK since it's our smallest base. I do know that the CAL and XJT MEC have been directly contacted, and AFAIK they're planning to support us.

Amazing, did you even bother to read the post directly above yours? That was the e-mail we received. Nowhere on there does it say we didn't support you. It was a timing, pure and simple. And while Pinnacle pilots have been dealing with this for nearly 6 years, we have not. There is a difference between section six and a JCBA, which only started 70 days ago.

Ok, congratulations, you have now picketed. How has that activity in any way contributed to getting a deal done? I haven't seen a mention of anything on the news or online regarding it (other than here). Why not spend your time doing something constructive, like working towards a contract, than gather together a dozen pilots to walk in a circle?

I just do not get the timing. I have been in the airlines for over 3 years now. I have heard of ONE 9E picketing event before this. ONE event in over three years. And now you are on ice with the NMB and more progress is happening to get you a better contract than you could have ever dreamed of.......and now you decide to picket. Something is backwards.

Still it would be nice for there to be some mention or any mention of these events on the National site.
