I heard about the crash a little after 8:00am EST while watching InTouch w/Charles Stanley on one television while my Dad was watching the Today Show on another.

My heart hurts for all who lost their lives in this tragic accident, especially for the flight crewmembers for obvious reasons. As a former Comair & Delta Air Lines employee out of CVG & PBI respectively, my deepest sympathy in this your loss.

Let's not speculate on the accident... it's dangerous to do so until additional information can be brought to light. Most of the folks on the news networks that provide "guidance" on issues such as these have little or no commercial airline flight experience and those that actually do (such as Al Haines) know better than to make guesses at what could have happened this early in the investigation.

My guess is that the professionals from the NTSB Go-Team haven't even arrived on site yet. So the actual amount of factual information out there is probably pretty small.

As a side note, if anybody has access to the names of the crewmembers (CA/FO/FA) via a company FLIFO page or bid pack or something, I'd really appreciate it if you could PM me. I have a good number of friends at Comair and can't get in touch with them so far.

I agree, the details are not accurate and it is probablly not good to speculate on the cause of the crash. Any idea of how this crash might effect Comair...

Maybe you could just call the hotline. There is 1-800 number you can call. They may be able to tell you more! They show it on CNN every so often. Sincere condolences to all familly members and friends of the crash victims! I feel sorrow for all people aboard Flight 5191!

The crew (not sure of the spelling on any of these): source, President of Comair as Reported at 10:18 in a news conference.....

Capt: Jeff Clay [D.O.H. 11/1999, Capt. in 2004]
First Officer: Jim Polehinke [D.O.H. 2002]
Flight Attendant: Kelly Heyer (male) [D.O.H. 2004]
