Thanks for the info guys. I wasn't going to bother the folks on the phone... Having an understanding of the process that goes on behind closed doors, I know that they are swamped with calls from family members (even regarding passengers on flight that don't come close to LEX) and other folks and don't need me calling for info too... They have enough going on right now to keep them busy.

My thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to anybody that knew the passengers or crew of flight 5191.

Does anyone know if this crew was on a stand-up?

Also, to clarify the variety of info about the flight number...

"Comair 191" was the filed flight number (IE Callsign and FAA flight plan info).

"Comair 5191" is the internal flight number used by the Delta reservations system and what the general public sees.

Always hate to see something like this. Lots of friends at CMR. Thoughts and prayers for the family members/survivors.

From the "other" board, apparently not. Flight was going to ATL, no standup going that direction.

Sorry to ask in this thread that should be used only to write something directly connected to the terrible crash, but I don't want to open up an entirely new thread for this: What is being on a standup?

It's when the crew flies the last flight of the night out and has a very short stay, then flies the first flight back. Legally, they don't ever "duty off" but instead work under the same rules that govern "redeye" flights (IE they are on duty all night, even though they go to the hotel for a few hours)

Under this type of scenario, the crew doesn't require the normal hotel stay/rest assignment since they are considered on duty all night long. They get their rest during the daylight hours instead for legality purposes.

Thanks for that info and my condolences to crew, friends and family. I'm just interested as to what possible spin the company or media might put on this tragedy. "Pilot Error" is all too convenient these days.
