Take it with a grain of salt and hope for the best, plan for the worst. My .02, I wouldn't have left my current gig and jumped back on board if I didn't think things were looking good. You'll either learn to be flexible with this industry, or you'll leave it for "greener" pastures.
Anyone else starting on the 11th?

weird when I asked the CA during my interview, he said it would depend on domicile. he said it could be as low as 12-18 months at the most junior bases, or as high as 2-3 years at the most senior bases, but of course it was all speculative. 3-5 years seems high to me for this company, are you basing this on the new SLI?
I think there was some sort of miscommunication if that captain left you with the impression that domicile would have anything to do with upgrade. That does not make sense. If a pilot senior to you bids for captain, he will be awarded it first no matter what base he holds previously. That 12-18 months he mentioned...I think maybe he was talking about how long it would take to break in your new uniform.

You guys going to Memphis...have a good time. It's a fun town with lots of good food everywhere. Try to ignore the flight attendants in the next room screaming "EVACUATE, EVACUATE" while your trying to understand how the JIPWIZ is frammed up with the ramistam at 2.5ghz.
