Personally, I would wait until you can hold a line on a specific piece of equipment before bidding it. The ATL commute is really difficult.

The new contract has 12 month position locks. Why would anyone with the senority close to upgrade take a vacancy in ATL for a $2 raise to be locked for a year. Like he said though, depends how the vacancies turn out. I think I'm seeing new hires going to ATL on that last 9E vacancies. Have fun on reserve for eternity though....

there is no seat lock going from 900 to the 200

Not so sure about this. Think the union and company don't see eye to eye on this.

read the awesome contract we have. 12 month position lock, cannot upgrade out of a seat for 12 months when you switch airplanes.

thanks guys.

what about mesaba though? are they also actively hiring and how many? because I noticed they have lower flight time requirements.

which base would be the most likely one if I were to get on with mesaba?

and I'm a little confused as to how mesaba and pinnacle are different when it comes to work rules or QOL etc. and if they aren't much different, then how come their hiring minimums are?

Pinnacle mins are 1000/200 (preffered). I heard of folks getting in waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay below stated, if you have jet training/transition.

I suggest you read the awesome contract you have. I'll save you a little bit of time. It's on page 163 of the pdf version available on the website. Section 24.G.6
6. A freeze will not be imposed in conjunction with Differences Training.
So moving from 200 to 900 is no freeze.

** WARNING DO NOT LISTEN TO HEARSAY FROM SOMEONE WHO "Read the contract"** if it's the truth they can show you where it is. Look at it yourself. Then you'll be sure.

On a related sidenote to your attitude towards the contract Munkybutter, I agree there a parts that could have been better. And there are loopholes that Mesaba never exploited that Pinnacle will, but our job is to make sure it's enforced to the fullest extent we can and that everyone reads it. So is it awesome? No. Is it better than what we had before? Depends. But at least it ends the whipsaw and allows you full access to the flying your labors paid for.

Thank you for clearing that up. I have spoken personally with 3 reps and whoever runs the hotline and they are the ones that explained it to me that way. I will reference the section you pointed out. I also spoke with BR who runs vacancies on the 9E side and he agreed. Maybe there is some miscommunication somewhere in my grapevine. I'm still curious how you came to a conclusion about my attitude towards the contract by a one sentence post. I am a senior FO and ATL would be a commuting dream for me so I hope you're right, but id like to hear it from the people pulling the strings. Please don't turn this thread into what it isn't. I was referencing 24.G.3.C. If I am wrong then I apologize, but do not turn it into a bash party. Go ahead and pump the brakes.
