Wow! An honest recruiter.... who woulda thunk it.

If you want to avoid the cheating, fatten him up, keep yourself thin, and be sure to be "in the mood" when he walks in the door.

Hi FlyHusband! I hear ya about the support group-it isn't an easy career to have your spouse in, but it could always be worse-at least that's what I tell myself!

He will NEVER fatten up-he's done P90X repetitively since 2009-it's sick, really! I don't imagine he will have time to do those workouts once he is on reserve!

So far so good with the two of us. We are an aviation family. It's a crazy and often times screwby industry but it is filled with a lot of good people. The first couple of years can be the toughest on the relationship but it sounds like you have a great head start understanding it all.

I've been in this industry for twenty years and, while it took my wife a little while to get used to my schedule (not long), it's a normal part of her life now. She's never had a reason to worry about me cheating on her either. Also, your husband can easily stay in shape in this industry, as long as he's committed to it. I always try to find a gym within hotel shuttle van distance at my layover cities, and I make an effort to actually eat well all the time. It can be done.

It'll be a little different for you at first, but you'll get used to the schedules. Whenever possible, you guys should take advantage of the travel benefits and go somewhere. It's a heck of a perk.

That's encouraging! One of my best friend's husband's got hired about . 2 months ago. The day he left for training I drove her to the emergency room-she couldn't keep anything down. She'd given herself an ulcer! She's doing pretty good with it now, though.

And if anyone can stay fit as a pilot, it will be my husband-he'd saw off his arm before he missed a workout!

We actually HAD flight benefits for about 8 months-the school he went to, now Aerosim, was once Delta Connection Academy, so once he became an instructor we got bene's. Flew business elite class to and from South Africa-it was amazing!
