Thanks DUVIE... FAT is only a 1.5 hour drive from where I live currently.

The E120 isn't a hard upgrade and the majority of its upgrades come from the RJ side but have previous “Taco Turbin” time as most left the E120 after a year for better pay and RJ experience. If you look at the awards you can't tell if they started off on the E120 or not.

Every RJ FO I know of except one who has never flown the E120 has passed upgrade.

At SKW, even if you are assigned a domicile and you do your IOE out of that domicile, you aren't considered based there until your IOE is complete. You will get hotels on the front, middle or back side if needed.

Take the E120 if able, you'll get FAT ASAP and if you sit reserve you can do it from home. Then after a year transition to the RJ. Besides, first year pay is the same regardless of a/c.

I know Portland and Seattle are pretty senior, but does anybody know how long it would take to get either as a new hire? Trying to figure out where to bid, but if there is no chance I might as well bid something a little more realistic, thanks.

There is always a chance but it’s extremely slim. Where do you live and what base do you want? Sorry if you posted it earlier but I don’t have time to dig.

Always bid what you want, never what you think you'll get.

I can not stress this enough!!!!!!!!!!!

Many of my classmates bid realistically, some are still commuting to reserve in IAH or ORD. Before I was out of training I was holding a line in my second choice domicile, next month I will have a line in my first choice and I'll be driving to work.

Even if you don't think you will get it, bid for what you want not what you think you will get.

Currently I live in Bozeman, MT but I am planning on moving. I'd rather live where I'm based, or at least be within one flight of my base. I'm from Oregon and want to stay in the west if possible and ORD, MSP, and IAH don't sound very appealing to me but I'll go where the job takes me! I'm not too picky, I'll be happy from DEN and further west, but my first pick would be PDX then SEA.

flyin, it is by far better to live where you are based, but from BZN, MSP wouldn't be a bad place to be. That would be a one leg commute and your relative seniority would rise much quicker there than it likely would in DEN, SEA, or PDX. Good luck with whatever you get and eventually choose.
