I don't even work at ASA but that is truly sad news, take from a respectable airline and give to one that doesn't deserve anything...

When I hear the term "Lowest bidder" I feel sick to my stomach. Good luck ASA

I really find this topic ironic. RJ guys fighting over MAINLINE flying! Who do you think you guys got this flying from in the first place? At some point YOUR company was the lower bidder and reduced the number of mainline jobs commensurately.

When ASA, GoJet, TSA, ExpressJet, Skywest etc all start marketing and selling tickets on their own flights then perhaps you could have an argument. But as it stands now you guys rely on the name of the mainline corporation and the infrastructure it provides to be the "lowest" bidders.

The Delta guys probably felt the same way when THEIR flying was given to an RJ. Somehow I suspect you don't have as much sympathy for them...

Yeah we all understand the scope argument by now. We don't need you to lecture us. I believe I was in middle school when the majors gave up scope on RJ's. If you want the flying back at mainline (and I think all of us do) then you are the only one in the position to do that. The question is where do we go from here? Pointing the fingers at the regional guys for "stealing" flying is getting old. Maybe I should just refuse to fly my next flight so the Delta pilots don't get mad at me.

This should just further solidify mainline pilots' positions on regaining scope. There will ALWAYS be a lower bidder and this terrible downward spiral will continue until it is no longer allowed. We are way past the days of placing blame on one pilot group or another for the woes of the industry. Most mainline and regional pilots want the same thing so let's make it happen.

That's sort of what happens when you put all your faith in MESA caving. I think they were banking on that.

Sux though. Here comes four year reserve F.O.s again. Bet that's gonna be wonderful.

You totally misunderstood that guys post.

He is saying the same thing you are.

All flying needs to be done under the flag carriers company list. One company one list.

True enough, but please go on to explain why exactly mainline is not flying the regional jets to begin with. How did that happen?
