And UALALPA will STILL encourage their furloughed pilots to take advantage of the "opportunity" to work at a place their job was outsourced to. While other MEC's advise against it.

GoJet Airlines Announces Additional Flying and New Partnership With Delta Air Lines
12 Bombardier CRJ-700s added to GoJet’s fleet as Delta Connection
GoJet Airlines LLC announced today a new partnership with Delta Air Lines that includes adding 12 Bombardier CRJ-700 aircraft to the GoJet fleet. The dual-class aircraft will fly
as part of the Delta Connection program.
Under the terms of the agreement, GoJet will begin service with the 12 Delta-owned CRJ-700 aircraft in the first quarter of 2012. The total number of GoJet aircraft in service
will rise to 37, almost a 50-precent increase in the airlines’ current fleet. GoJet currently operates 25 aircraft as part of the United Airlines Express regional service.
“We are pleased to add GoJet to the Delta Connection family of airlines, we believe GoJet to be a high quality airline and will be a great addition to the Delta network” remarked Don Bornhorst, President of Delta Connection.
“Today’s announcement is exciting news for GoJet Airlines as it not only expands our fleet, but it also marks our second partnership with a major airline. We are committed to
this new code-sharing agreement with Delta, one of the largest airlines in the world,” said Rick Leach, President and CEO of GoJet Airlines and President of Trans States Holdings. “Since its launch six years ago, GoJet has strived to be a leader in the regional airline industry by providing our customers with safe, reliable and efficient service on every flight. In our role as a United Express carrier we are continually recognized for providing an excellent product with some of the most professional flight crews in the skies. Now, through this growth we have the opportunity to partner with
Delta Air Lines and bring that same great service into this new relationship. We are also proud to grow our fleet of Bombardier aircraft, which have proven to be excellent
performers in the marketplace.”

How? The company promised the RJ's would be for additional service NOT replacement service. The company said that Southwest was a lower cost and they were pressuring our cost. They needed concessions and this would allow the company to offer the traveling public MORE options without compromising the mainline jobs. Well you see how that worked out.
Maybe you guys could argue about who is the tallest midget next.

However to the commenter that distinguished "mainline" and "RJ" routes....they are not mutually exclusive because you are comparing apples and oranges. Mainline refers to who is doing the flying. RJ refers to what aircraft is doing the flying. If it weren't for scope relaxation....they would be one in the same.

Interesting that if you game the system (BB @ RAH) or cheat the system (GoJets) you're rewarded. That's troubling to say the least.
I'm sure ALPA will have a strongly worded letter about GoJets being added and flying being removed from an ALPA carrier..........
.... in the meantime, we're not going to have a scope battle in 2011 at Delta so there really isn't much hope for relief BUT hopefully when we get the chance we'll win this fight and hire like gangbusters.

Again -- I'm glad to be out of the DCI cesspool.
Actually, I don't know what I'm more glad about -- to be out of the DCI cesspool or out of ALPA.

ALPA didn't say anything either when (insert legacy here) was in BK, and crappy/low paying ALPA and non-ALPA carriers bid on and get awarded flying. Causing concessions at the other carriers, massive downsizing, and in some cases, extinction.

I really find this topic ironic. RJ guys fighting over MAINLINE flying! Who do you think you guys got this flying from in the first place? At some point YOUR company was the lower bidder and reduced the number of mainline jobs commensurately.
When ASA, GoJet, TSA, ExpressJet, Skywest etc all start marketing and selling tickets on their own flights then perhaps you could have an argument. But as it stands now you guys rely on the name of the mainline corporation and the infrastructure it provides to be the "lowest" bidders.

Guess what... SkyWest used to market and sell tickets on all their own flights until they started flying for Western Airlines, then Delta bought Western and handed over all the flying they thought was beneath them!

Welcome to the America as I (and my generation) know it. Common sense, personal responsibility, and a moral compass not required for success. There's a saying about why I always finish last... something about being a "nice guy."
