Poor choice of words on my part. I'd be looking for CFI's with a little part 91 turbine or 135 experience, or maybe higher-time MEI's. Guys who do not qualify for major airline jobs or good corporate jobs yet. Maybe even just a CFI with an ATP. But the idea is I get to be picky.

Like someone side, I would eat a lot of turnover when the majors are hiring and I might even have to adjust to get the right balance between turnover costs and longevity costs. But my premise is that there is a balance point that makes more sense (to a manager) than the current scheme.

Also, on each paycheck can you reduce 25 dollars per month and send a 25 dollar ITUNES card?
Done and done. Backpacks are required, and the only way approved to carry your uber cool laptop around. Your compensation will be primarily in iTunes giftcards and hair gel. Newhires wont need money since they will be subsidized by Mommy and Daddy, although there will be sponsorships through RayBan available if you qualify for financial assistance!

Default Merchant Marine model for commercial pilots

How about following the federal model for the Merchant Marine academy and force Airlines to hire from academy grads at a uniform salary based on a/c size? Uniform training and Career path for all pilots.

Just one question before I come to fly planes for you...

What are your hiring requirements for flight attendants?

Some came to SkyWest intending to leave, but a great many came with the intent to make it a career. From what my buddy tells me, this is not the case at AWAC. You guys will a helluva lot more movement than places like SkyWest or Eagle will come 2012 and beyond.
And a career at a regional can be a decent thing. If you drive to work, earn enough money, live where you like to live, etc. it's a great thing. But many of us just don't have that. I honestly hope there are a lot of folks who are happy at their company. But I also know a lot who are ready to move on from ours.

That said, I'm 44 now so while there's still time for a good career elsewhere that clock is ticking. So I make the most of it and if I get stuck here for a long time (like forever) I can also sleep at night knowing that it isn't really horrible either. I make decent money, only ever work more than 15 days in month if I choose to do so, have decent seniority, etc.

I'm ready to move on but if I can't then I can live with it too.

As to the phenomenon of the 5-year RJ F/Os? That's not because anyone wants that, it's because there's practically nowhere to go at the moment.

Great lakes captains make less then FOs at other regionals. So people would go there and stay there

Our flight attendants come to us from an internship program through Playboy University. They will all be incredibly hot and wanting to hook up with underpaid, overworked, narcissists.

Would the company ever lie to you??!

I would pay everyone with Bacon. Any overtime would be paid with whiskey sour, and you could be terminated for not wearing sunglass, at night.
