Don't worry 1900CA. GLA's just a "bottom feeder". We don't have feelings or families, or financial obligations. We just run around in circles saying "Have you seen my baseball?" ("Something about Mary" quote). We should feel very lucky that there are people who care for us as this individual does.

I'm really glad to hear you had a good experience with the Asst. Chief. I'm glad you felt at home. We hire individuals, not numbers....The company's small enough that you'll get to know everybody.....we're one big, happy, incestuous family.
As for my previous post, I edited it.....*mucho sarcasm* added.

For anyone thinking of going there, you need to understand one thing about the training contract. It is a 15 month contract that starts the day you pass your checkride. If you're furloughed, and subsequently recalled, you must return or pay up! Additionally, the amount is not prorated and they add interest.
So let's say as an example, you fly the line for six months, then get furloughed when Raytheon starts grabbing their aircraft. With your new found turbine time, you get a new job at some other regional. Now, all the captains with PIC time are jumping ship and Lakes needs to recall. When they call, either you go back or write them a check for 7500 plus interest.
Stay far away from that place. Lakes had a way of surviving in the past, but now Raytheon has buyers for those 1900s overseas. This could easily be the end of the ride for Lakes Air. Just ask yourself if you're willing to make a $9000 gamble.

Seriously.. Yes.
Even though they are having problems, they are still interviewing, and yes there are people out there that are applying and interviewing like myself, I just interviewed there last Friday, and I was not the only one, there were quite a few people there interviewing also.
