9E, without a new contract, would've been understaffed (as usual). Where's all the upgrades there?
There WERE plenty of upgrades on the 9E side alone, at a rate of about 20-30 per month before this merger happened and 11-08 came out. Pinnacle was already down to March 2007 DOH for Captains, and had we not merged, the rest of the 2007 FOs (myself included) would have upgraded by now. Instead, our March 2007 Captains got downgraded back to FOs while CURRENT Captains at Colgan bid over to the jets. No kumbaya here. And you are 100% that Mesaba would have furloughed without the one list and merger. The junior FOs would have been on the street, and junior Captains would have been downgraded. Instead, this one list and binding arbitration award saved them, and a majority got to keep the Captain seats they already had, with some chosing the right seat to stay in a more favorable base.

Both XJ and 9L gained movement on 11-09 at the expense of Pinnacle pilots.
