Probably be easier without the fences. You either have the seniority to hold it, or you don't. This way, you may have the seniority, but you can't due to quotas. MEM 200 CAs that want the -900 in MEM are a prime example. Even I can hold -900 CA in MEM and hold a line, and I can't even bid back to MEM 200 CA. However, realistically, it may be 3 years before I an hold -900 CA in MEM because of the quotas. But a -900 MEM CA could bid DTW or JFK -200 CA no problem.....

I'm hearing the company is looking at all quotas the same. Any A/C that is over quota is awarded in seniority.

Probably be easier without the fences? Of course it would be easier, I said this at the beginning, we think too highly of ourselves. We work at a crappy Regional airline with crappy work rules. Why did we need fences? We don't fly 747s, we fly 34 seat turbo props and 50/76 seat jets. If your merger committee would have take the DOH deal XJ proposed without fences wouldn't we ALL be in a better spot? Anyway, I don't think the fences matter as much as people think, this place will not exist in 5 years.

I was referring to the poster that implied that Pinnacle would have to start all over when the fences came down. Hence the reason I quoted that. I know why the fences exist. Besides, even if the 9E merger committee had taken XJ's proposal, it still wouldn't have worked. Colgan wouldn't have gone for it.

That's fine and dandy.

I can plainly see the quota for XJ to upgrade on the Saab and I can plainly see the quota for Colgan to upgrade, but where is the quota for 9E to upgrade on the Saab?

Why would we get a quota? The idiots on our Merger Committee implied we didn't want them by stapling the whole Colgan pilot group.

So this is what we got, "For a period of five years beginning with the submission of the Integrated Seniority List, no Pinnacle pilot may be awarded or displaced to a Saab-340 captain position"

5 years, no saab captain positions for us.
