The Saab is typically referred to as the grinder because of the complexity of the systems.
Them Swedes built a tank of a plane! But put it in the summer heat of IAH and it performs about as well as a tank would getting off the ground

Pay has been backwards for awhile in this industry. Complexity/risk level of the flying you do, has less affect on pay than the uninitiated would think. If there was some direct relationship between 'toughness' and pay, I would think turboprop 121 pilots, CFIs, and 135 pilots would *generally* be paid much more!w
