This isn't a job at starbucks that you can walk away from scott free because you found out that your manager is a dick. This is a career and it will be brought up in every interview you have for the rest of your life. Without a degree you could be stuck there a lot longer then you previously thought. Take your time, do your research, and be honest with yourself what you want out of this career. If you do your research and still decide to go to a place that prey's on desperate people then you won't have any excuses when they eventually throw you under the bus. Where should I go? Future goal is to do online BA while working at a regional, then Major or Cargo. |

Good point.

I would go to the airline near your home town or where you can stand to live first, then search for info on their contract and find out where they roughly stand in the pecking order, and then I would consider the anticipated movement. I wouldn't tell them about your vacation in the interview. Worst case scenario call in sick, doctors note, and buy an airline ticket. I wouldn't post photos online of the trip and I wouldn't tell anyone at the company after you get back. You also just posted the exact dates of your trip on a huge website that a lot of airline people see. I would be very careful what details about yourself you give out on here. |
We live in MCO, but will move to PHL. So looking at Republic, AirWis and Expressjet (EWR).
As far as the trip, it is canceled. Would not dream of calling in sick for it, especially right after starting. We have to think career before pleasure this year.... |

What makes you think that you will get phl with republic / air Wisconsin ?
What if aw says you are going to cae or orf? What happens if you get sdf on chq instead of republic certificate. ?? Be flexible and decide where to move where your job is. Your wife should move to your base and visit family around phl on your travel benefits. |

True That!!!! Happy wife happy life!!! The good news is RAH is going to be hiring a lot of people for the Republic cert. I just got that info from a friend who just got interviewed. That's the latest and greatest. People are being hired into the cert of their choice RIGHT NOW. I always like people on this forum who have no clue about what's going on at a particular company but feel their advise is what you should listen to. Put an app in and see what happens! You never know until you try! Good luck! BY THE WAY....I hope you did your research on this place! You get what you get!

most advice on here sucks. People are too cocky.
My advice is to apply to people with PHL bases, and if you get based somewhere else get a crash pad and work your way back. Also keep in mind you got NYC a 3 hour drive, and DCA/IAD 3 hours away. A 3 hour drive is not bad if you have a small car, and takes just as long as driving 45 minutes to an airport, and commuting somewhere. |
