Traditionally when Delta is hiring, the CRJ side see's the most attrition, but with Delta not having done any significant hiring in years, when they do open their school house it should be interesting. The extended time most have spent in the left seat has provided a comfort level that is hard to leave, I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of Captains elect to remain at the regionals. Going off of flightdeck polling, I hear more often than not that either they can't afford the pay cut, they're too old, don't want to go back to reserve, or don't want to give up the QOL (weekends, holidays, vacation, etc). I would put the bar at about 10 years, if they have been here longer than that, they aren't going anywhere , below that is where the attrition will happen. Of course, I could be totally wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

I've been hearing that too... about 10-12 years seems to be the cut-off for when they'll either leave when hiring starts or stay for the QOL/pay. I think we're going to be seeing FOs leaving in droves. 5+ years in the right seat with no upgrade prospect in sight is more than most of us can stomach. First chance to get out, we will.

2013 is gonna be interesting.

If you haven't gotten a letter, I would call an touch base.

ExpressJet is the biggest regional airline in the world and It is financially very stable, with great benefits, so I thing that your desire to be in expressjet is the best option.

Well the hard part is do I take a job that I know I have, or wait on a job that I might get turned down?

Well Johny that is a difficult question to answer but The life is about taking decisions, you have to evaluate if that company is really stable because if not, you will be at the same starting point in the future. The decision is yours.
