Knowing Pinnacle/Colgan, they will wait until the last minute, panic, and shove everyone through a half a$$ ATP program in their usual Chinese Fire Drill mode.......
I'm thinking they want to do the furloughs before they start doing ATP's so they don't have to pay for guys who won't be flying here. If they take a recall they will get them an ATP at that time. There will probably be a lot of voluntary furloughs so they won't know at this point who is staying and needs an ATP. I would be interested in a voluntary furlough. I want to chase the quick upgrade without losing my seniority and longevity at Pinnacle.

I think most carriers make you resign your seniority at your previous carrier in order to be hired, be careful.

It's just conjecture but anything is possible these days.

Um all Colgan hires were required to have ATP written and 1500hrs when I was hired. So, we can easily do the ATP during a PC or RPT before the deadline. Heck, our PC's are already to ATP standards. Shouldn't be much of an issue.

+1 ^^

The only difference between a PC and a type ride for us right now is on a type the CA candidate has to do a single engine missed approach.

Everything else is held to ATP standards already.

An ATP ride isn't that difficult. It's the written that's the beeotch. Go through ATP or Sheppard (sp?) and it's a guaranteed pass.

...and the Oral is a little more then the usual few questions out of the study guide. My examiner busted out one of those ASA ATP Oral Exam guides we all used as Instructors.

...and he seemed to know exactly what I have not even thought about since I was an Instructor lol

Wouldn't it have to be with an APD as well? That might make it tougher to schedule.

It is probably a combination of them having no plans beyond two months for any aspect of the business and also them knowing how many FOs will leave once they finally get their free ATP.
