Well the last update from the FA reps said they were all going to be parked at he end of April.....

But I still don't think Bedford is intereted in anything with a prop.....

My source is from the Director of Ops in a memo to the YX pilots. I'm going to say it's pretty solid.

Well that's fine but it doesn't change the main point that Bedford has no interest in running a turboprop operation and is getting rid of all the Qs.

bhmdiversion 04-02-2012 07:01 AM

Is anyone else listening to the conference call?

So at this point, is there any chance the turboprop operation (either/both sf340 and/or q400 airplanes, pilots, certificate) can or will be sold to another carrier, moving the crews with the aircraft? I know this has been discussed before, but what is the real life application of the contract regarding this issue. And as for the aircraft, is Pinnacle trying to just give back and default on the q400s, or sell them, making the above question relevant. Seems to me Pinnacle would benefit by cutting the operation and seeing some sort of return from the aircraft it does own, Colgan pilots could benefit with a different opportunity, and the Pinnacle/Mesaba pilots wouldn't have to endure nearly the number of furloughs.

Nope Qs and Saabs are going back to lessors at the rate of 3 a month starting in May. Saab Operation is finished in August and Q Operation is finished in November. Colgan pilots will be able to hold the aircraft according to their seniority on the ISL. Unfortunately it will be a combination of Mesaba, Pinnacle, and Colgan pilots that are furloughed....

I think part of the issue is the liablities of the Colgan certificate due to 3407 because there is no interest in that certificate.

Is he reading the memo from last night? Gee, I couldn't read that myself. Thanks.

bhmdiversion 04-02-2012 07:10 AM

Is anyone else listening to this call? Doesn't sound like he is too sad about this...

The Juice 04-02-2012 07:13 AM

Oh Jeebus he's crying. Someone get me my little violin...

bhmdiversion 04-02-2012 07:13 AM

Is he crying? I bet he is using $100 bills to wipe his tears.

captain152 04-02-2012 07:15 AM

Wow... He's crying. Geez. I'd feel bad for you if you hadn't taken a giant pay raise before you filed.

Agreed. He got all choked up about how hard it would be on his family through Chapter 11. I bet that extra couple hundred thousand would go a long way to make my family feel better...

I need to retract that statement...

I'd feel bad for you if you had taken a pay CUT before you filed to try and prevent it. Just look at what the CEO of JAL did... THAT is a true leader

Compass is hiring. Things are solid here - at least no impemding doom and gloom...for now.

bhmdiversion 04-02-2012 07:24 AM

Is it just me but does this call sound like all of his answers are scripted?

FlyJSH 04-02-2012 07:27 AM

has anyone asked about his raise?

You are owned by HK. It is never stable when he is in charge.

Yes because people in Alaska/the Pacific Northwest have ANYTHING in common with LA, THE NORTHEAST, or the the East Coast. This is a long term trend. It might not yet be effecting a company named ALASKA AIRLINES, but for the rest of the country it is the case. Also those 1900s in the middle of North Dakota are no example of anything.

QX does not fly the q400 in Alaska. However, they do fly them out of LAX and numerous other southern California cities. Not sure where you get your "facts" from.

No.....but the tapdance about payroll was interesting. Notice they didn't say anything about the threat to go to court for relief.....

FlyingKat 04-02-2012 07:30 AM

Apparently there was an amendment to the CRJ 200 and Mesaba 900 agreements to get the DIP financing from Delta

SmitteyB 04-02-2012 07:38 AM

He basically is blaming the pilot group for the collapse of the Q400 deal.

bhmdiversion 04-02-2012 07:40 AM

So is Pinnacle going to be a big CR2 operator and have just some 900s?

captain152 04-02-2012 07:44 AM

No out of seniority furloughs...

Ramprat 04-02-2012 07:44 AM

There you go..no out of seniority furlough.

SmitteyB 04-02-2012 07:44 AM

They will not furlough out of seniority.

So he says the old Continental liked the Q's, but the United side not so much? United must want these run DIRT cheap.

XJT Pilot 04-02-2012 07:56 AM

U guys getting paid heard No!

Wingtips 04-02-2012 07:59 AM

I have been saying that no major wants the friggin turbo props. It worked good to bust CAL scope over 50 seats, and was good for CAL which was not that much of a business airline, but UAL wants to be the premium global airline, and turbo props are not that.

B200 Hawk 04-02-2012 08:00 AM

is it a bad time to ask when the per deim sheet will be posted? at least i am gonna make some serious scrilla on my last paycheck (if it actually comes)
