What kind of place would you have this forum be anyway? Another fan club for major airline pilots perhaps? Maybe you would prefer this place were anther a propaganda outlet for AOPA or Flying magazines or recruiting tool for Mesa Airlines.

APF's is a place where everyone can state their own opinion...like it or not. There are things that I have said that people don't like...ah well. I'm not here to please anyone nor make contacts. It is the same message over and over. The facts don't change. I am passionate about what I preach and on occasion I do go overboard.
I am sorry if I am a buzz kill. Maybe I could start a major airline pilot fan club thread? We could all pretend that the fantasy still lives and I would promise to nothing other than ego build. Would that help?

I too am a full supporter of Skyhigh, even though I completely disagree with his opinion. Granted I am still at the very beginning of what I hope to be a rewarding career and really haven't even experienced anything so I can't sit here and say he is out of line or off base for his opinion. However, two things to consider.
1) First off there are as many people that come on these forums and can offer the polar opposite opinion and tell you from experience that it is still possible, while it may take some luck it can happen.
2) I also think that the truth is most of the people who can tell you that the possibilities are there don't sit here wasting there time like he does trying to convince people to jump ship. They are sitting at home with a smile on their face watching sportscenter on their plasma enjoying life and don't even know a forum such as this exists.
My only criticism of the man is that I think he's pretty pathetic that he has nothing better to do with his life than come on here and berate us with such pessimism, that in my opinion speaks leaps and bounds as to the type of person he is.
Why it's great to have someone like him around, for me at least, is that every time he goes on one of his rants it simply motivates me a little more to prove him wrong.

My efforts here are a fun little hobby. A monentary deversion in my day. I believe in what I write and enjoy wordsmithing my points as colorfully as I can. Most of it is intended as dry humor with a lot of truth thrown in. I know that many of you think of me as a hideous troll who likes fun busting others. Honestly my aim is to rudely rub some reality in your face once in a while. Polite comments will bounce off since I know how deeply stupefying an aviation addiction can be.
I am glad they you use me as a motivator. Be cautioned that if things go wrong my words of warning will burn in your mind for many years to come.
