I want to say that a company can be bought in pieces when in bankruptcy if approved by the creditors, but I'm not 100% sure. Long shot, but SkyWest could buy Pinnacle, take on the 900's for Delta since they are Delta owned and put 41 of the SkyWest owned 900's on the American Eagle operation which I'm sure will expand exponentially in the future. Just a crazy speculation.
Wouldnt that be Chapter 7? Which I can see happening...

This is kind of more along the lines of what i see out of this SPECULATION. I imagine those 41 900s would be a nice get.

I don't know. Just going along with the thread. Then again why would the letterhead change? There is still a bunch of Mesaba stuff floating around and the airline doesn't exist anymore. Even if skywest did buy us the letterhood probably wouldn't change before 2020.

Replace "Skywest" with "Skywest"

Replace "Delta" with "Delta"

Replace "ASA" with "ASA"

And replace "Pinnacle" with "Comair"

Aside from that, everything is about the same and no purchase happened with Comair.

It says ASA because they still have that certificate. Skywest is buying pinnacles 41 900s and will use the ASA Cert for a stand alone company to whipsaw both Skywest and Xjet pilots.

Buying Pinnacle would allow Skywest to control the 900s, rather than Pinnacle liquidating and those 900s going somewhere like GoJetzz

Skywest buys Pinnacle then they get 70 more 900s with the 200 trade. Would Delta want Skywest to have that much control?

I looked at the source code for the memo and the original file title was "Atlantic Southeast Airlines". So it looks like someone started to write a document about ASA, then deleted it, then wrote the memo. Sounds like a nothingburger to me.

Pinnacle has 40+ CRJ900's doing DCI flying. Does that sound worth anything?

I will settle this and tell you what really happened. That memo was written by the DCI managers at Delta. Our reorganization is being set up in the exact way they want. A similar memo was sent to ASA back in the day right before delta bought them. All they did was pull that memo up again, change the name, and send it out. Now you know.
