Default Pinnacle and ASA Weird Speculation

Ok...
So I go to read our Memo 12-32 on 9e's website about changes in our flight operation staffing...

But if you open the PDF file...the actual name of the file is

"Atlantic Southeast Airlines" !!!

I kid you not. I wish I could post a picture of this. I did this on my iPhone and took a screen shot.

I called this thread a "Weird Speculation" because that's what it is.

Any chance of 9E and ASA becoming one big happy family???

Why not, Pinncle bought Colgan and Mesaba, which is something I never thought I would see. It's probably something management did to take our attention away from the BK stuff.

IMO the only option for 9e is to be sold or shutdown, so I wouldn't be surprised by it. But isn't ASA gone? Isn't it ExpressJet now?

Within the inc family, we refer to the Express Jet/ASA collective as "surejet".

But at some point the DoJ might object to SKW buying up every large regional in North America on anti-trust grounds.

Someone has said they have to be sold in order for them to park their 200s, which in BK I would think Delta can do whatever they want. Of course everyone thinks Delta will buy them though... Who knows

First if all, DL's into whipsawing everyone. Second, DL will be the one to object when they can't whipsaw anymore.

None of anything that has been discussed in this thread will happen. What does Pinnacle have to offer Skywest Inc? They bought Expressjet mainly because it had a CPA with great terms from the continental side. What assets does Pinnacle have? If they can't be competitive without massive cuts to pilot contracts then what about the operation would be appealing for a purchaser? Doesn't make any sense to me.

They both fly for Delta. Plus if they dig themselves into a deeper hole, they could possibly buy them for cheap. Kinda goes alongside their "Super Regional" model they have been talking about.

So Pinnacle is going to buy ASA also? That didn't work out well when they bought Mesaba and Colgan.

Pinnacle has 41 CRJ-900's and a disposable management team. No assets isn't always a bad thing, especially when the ones they do have are probably leveraged through the roof. I don't buy into this, but we all know crazier things have happened. SkyWest could buy Pinnacle and only take on the 900's. Not sure where the pilots fit in. I want to say that a company can be bought in pieces when in bankruptcy if approved by the creditors, but I'm not 100% sure. Long shot, but SkyWest could buy Pinnacle, take on the 900's for Delta since they are Delta owned and put 41 of the SkyWest owned 900's on the American Eagle operation which I'm sure will expand exponentially in the future. Just a crazy speculation.
