Don Bornwh0rest (did I spell that correctly?), DCI President, doesn't give a rat's bunghole about any DCI pilot. He was the former Comair president before taking over DCI and he was instrumental in shutting Comair down. Any promises that he gives you about future flying is a lie. If he lied under oath during the OH/DL bankruptcy hearings, he sure as hell won't live up to any promises made under to Pinnacle pilots under duress. I lived it.

Concessions don't work and pilots don't buy airplanes or win flying for an airline.

F' em!

Since when does Virgin have a DTW base? Though you lived in Canton.

You're half right. I'm not in Pinnacle's shoes.

Pinnacle's in MY shoes.

I'm just pointing out where they're headed.

Nope. Moved a while ago. And what creep told you where I lived in MI? That's just not cool. Sounds stalker-ish.

Under the 1113, what was top FO pay again? $34/hour? So $30,600/year guarantee? Less the cost of a crash pad... about $28,000. That is equal to $14/hour at a regular job. It's also less than the average first year McDonald's store manager.

McDonald's Salaries | Glassdoor

If you can feed the starving brats on $28,000 while commuting and sitting reserve, feel free to vote on a rock bottom TA. But, given the choice of a horrific contract that merely delays my eventual unemployment or demanding honest pay until my hastened unemployment, I choose the latter.

I understand your rage. You're way off base tho. I don't really need to argue the logic of your math but if you're going to subtract costs for one job you must take into account the cost of the other job. Also, everyone thinks they can get a job as manager of Home Depot or McD. Sorry my friend, those jobs are hard to come by.
You're going to start off as a cashier even with a business degree and you're going to make $500.00 week.
Back to my earlier point. It's easy to tell someone to quit a job. It's much more serious when you're responsible for others.

Having said all that, my gut and experience tell me Pinnacle mgmt is not being forthright.

Stay home with the kiddies and actually get to know your kid vs Dayton Ohio for 8 hr overnight with no food. All pilots at the regional level have put up with this nonsense long enough. I think if enough people are forced to look outside this industry they will find that there are better options out there.

Try it some time. Welcome out of your moms basement. My pal, a stock broker for over 12 years, applied as a pizza delivery guy, part time, no bennies. Was shot down because he didn't bring a resume. Hahaha. The manager had a stack of resumes for a part time job making $700 month.

I agree that we are not paid according to our risk/investment. I could go on about this for days. My point here is simple. If you think the company will survive if you take another concession then it's a much more difficult choice. If you think they are going to fold regardless, then it's a no brainier. This is really the ultimate question.

Pardon my ignorance, but isn't Canton in OH? Akron/Canton or something? Or is there one in MI too?

Thanks for the condescending comments. I would love to move into my parents basement and rent my house out but my parents would have a dim view of that idea. I could probably save a nice lump of cash but I have actually come from owning my own business, have a side business/sales job, and make more outside this industry then I do in it.

It is not hard to find work in most areas and in your post two above this one you are saying a $500 a week job is easier to come by... well guess how much take home pay is for a regional fo after paying for crappy medical benefits, meals on the road, ...? Not far off the $500 a week at home depot. I worked at home depot in college and was able to make $12 an hour as a complete moron, college kid. I know everyone likes to justify this career with "it is tough out there" but you can find a job if you need one and roll up your sleeves.

You could replace this job and I would bet that like most people that have done it they would find that they are happier. There is more to life then flying an airplane for a company that treats you like a cog in a machine.

Why don't you lead by example then? Seriously, if you really mean what you said above, why don't you make yourself happier? Hard to convince others when you won't even take your own advice.

Apparently Shyguy thinks I'm on some type of crusade and accused me of "plastering his name and address to multiple DL pilots and other airline pilots"

If I have given Shy's address to ANYONE here, feel free to copy/paste my PM....without the mythical address of course. And if I have PM'd anyone except 1067 any PM with the word/name Shyguy and his name, post it too.....

sorry shy but no witchhunt here....move along and find someone else to accuse.

P.S. a 3 second google search showed me your occupation, ratings and city....it's not the PM conspiracy you think it is
