Default Poll: Pinnacle TA - Vote Yes or No (Dec 22)

I have heard both sides and I am leaning toward a NO vote. The proposed TA is better than what Delta is threatening but I think a complete shutdown will happen nice and slow still giving me plenty of time to make as much as I can before I leave. The longevity bonus and severance pay doesn't add up to what I will lose if this thing passes. I don't think it is feasible to shut us down as fast a they say, 6 months.

@Milk Man - it's in the bridge agreement. Not the TA. Towards the bottom

Are these payouts subject to the IRS "bonus" status? Ie: 50% is taxed...

I'm sure they are. The Feds have to have their share.

Look, for FOs id be taking a $7 an hr paycut. Average 80 hrs a mo, thats $560 a month. for 12 months thats over $6,000. So while we accept the paycut were losing money that they will just pay us when we get furloughed.

For every pilot job posted at a major, they probably get 50 qualified applicants.
I don't buy the shortage propaganda either. The only shortage I could see coming is at the regionals, and even then only due to lack of financing for flight training. It's hard to believe there are still people lined up to get into this business even with all the time, expense, low pay and time away from home and family.

In my particular situation I know I will NEVER be senior at my company and I doubt by the time a major calls me that I will have enough time in my career to be senior anywhere else either. I wouldn't get into aviation again if I had the chance to knowing what I know now if only I could turn the clock back.

Bonuses are withheld at a higher rate than regular wages, but they are taxed at the same rate.

My sentiments exactly. They would be paying us with our own money. It's a no vote.
