Since I really don't give a crap what shy guy does, I would like to get this thread back on track. What are people's bidding strategies? Hold on to the 200 as long as possible, go to the 900 right away? Wait to get displaced? I know it depends on your seniority but I'm curious as to what people's thoughts are

I'd advise everyone to read up on the freeze section of the new contract.

Get displaced back to the right seat; go home and get to know my family and friends again.

Just out of curiosity, what's the need of having this thread here? It's already in the Airlinks board... Does anybody out of 9E really give a sh!t?

just wondering...
I'm sure that many of us former Linkers do.

I would like to know how the fences are going to play out. That will make a big impact on my decision. I could end up in one of 3 positions out of this mess depending on how the fences are interpreted.

He can't "flow" but he will get a chance to interview if he wants it. He mentioned once that his last day was going to be punching out a Mesaba Pilot. Judging by his history, I would imagine that he was drinking and posting. Not always a good idea.

I think the bidding process is going to be interesting to see. Strategy wise if you displace into a higher paying position (200 CA to 900 CA) you go to class first. If you go from 900 CA to 200 CA you go last. (Higher paying position=seniority order, lower paying position= inverse). With freezes, displacing into somewhere keeps your hands clean. If you don't change position (just your base) there is no training. If you downgrade on the same equip (200 CA displaced to 200 FO), its less than a week for the training. With quotas, a fence, and 25% of the pilot group being displaced, this will be very interesting to see.
