A little free money? I fly the EMB120 and am in my 3rd year here, so there's not even a little money in it for me. Why SAPA would condone any proposal that doesn't include us is beyond me. It's not like we work any less hard than the jet guys, or are any less affected by inflation/cost of living. If this passes, talk about a divided pilot group. So my vote will definitely be no. As for ALPA, still not sure about that yet......

What a joke. I told my fiancee (who flies the Bro) that I would be for even the 1% but for everyone. Like the company is going to go out of business if it gives the 600 Bro pilots 1%? I am ready to write a hate letter to Brad Holt or whoever is in charge of this slap in the face myself. They should be ashamed of themselves. To give nothing to anyone is more respectable than this insult.

Skywest has some of the best hourly rates & work rules in the regional industry. That said, it is very, very disappointing that Skywest is unwilling to pay more than $20 bucks per hour to fly up to 76 seat aircraft.
What is even more disappointing is SAPA can't/won't fight for more and it seems a many Skywest pilots are willing to accept such a ****-poor hourly rate for first-year FOs.

Guys don't vote it down. If we do then we'll get nothing anytime soon. I say vote it in and go union. If we vote it down then when we go union we’ll have our current pay and for the next 1-4 years. We can't expect management to negotiate like Southwest and get a great contract in 1 year. Its obvious SKW has lost it's commitment to us.
I say ”TAKE THE MONEY AND SLAP THEM IN THE FACE WITH THE UNION!!!!!!!!”

That argument is really shooting yourself in the foot....If you committ to a deal for 4 more years, there will be nothing the union can do for 4 years. Unions work happens when contracts near their expiration/expire. Getting a union itself is no "slap in the face." Get the union and give it a chance to improve the situation.
Just ask Allegiant. They voted in a union and management punished them by changing pay and quality of life. The union filed a lawsuit under the RLA and won back pay for the labor group.
WE HAVE NO CONTRACT AT SKW AND THE CURRENT PAY PROPOSAL IS NOT A CONTRACT!!!!!
Because we have no contract, there is no restriction on when we can start negotiating our FIRST CONTRACT.
