Tell me how long have you been in aviation..?
1-2 years, if that so. Basically few years back you were begging to fly anywhere and now suddenly you guys became experts in aviation and involved with unioins.
So please tell me this. Show me one regional that it's ALPA and doing well.
And why nobody gets uppset about comair being (basicaly) sold to skywest(non-union)?
ALPA is only good for collecting money...nothing else.
I will agree that maybe ALPA is doing something for Major Airlines. Not for the regionals. So go ahead say anything you want about GoJet but I have yet to see anyone to come and say anything to any of the GJ pilots. I am in ORD all the time. I jumpseat in alot of other regionals.Guess what NEVER had a problem. So don't hide behind your computer and talk cause while back you would pay to fly anywhere....

The company I'm with is non union. But it has never been an alter ego company (in fact, we don't have any competition that is union either).
And you won't find me traveling on a company set up specifically to break a union, let alone workinng for one. There aren't many unionized airlines in Alaska (I can't think of any, Alaska Airlines operates some routes up here but they are Seattle based and don't operate into but a very small portion of the communities). Guess up here the companies stay forgotten.
What's almost as bad as Go Jet pilots going to a union breaking company is that they then went and got unionized! I'm surprised the teamsters are willing to represent them. That's dispicable. It thoroughly disgusts me. Can you Go Jet pilots actually look at other pilots in the eyes?
I know what it can be like to be at an airline without unions, and any pilot who furthers efforts to take away their ability to work for others should be ashamed of themselves.
I can understand some pilots getting trapped and not realizing what they were getting into. Signing up before they knew what the company was. But that is only an excuse until you continue to work there after you find out. Those of you who argue about how it's not a big deal... even if you didn't know at the time you come across that you wouldn't have cared anyway. I hope for your sakes that you don't ever hope to work for an ALPA airline.

I argued fiercly against the above statement made by Saab... however after doing a Providence ovenight and chatting with GoJet FO and FA at the bar, I must say there was truth to the above statement. It was like he hadn't finished eveolving or something in addition to the lack of social skills.
My pride has been laid down... Saab was right, at least in this case.

why don't you GJ pilots realize the entire idea of what your company does? You work for a company that was created to circumvent a contract. No one in aviation has done this before, and now unions around the regionals are putting this new clause in their contract.
On top of that, you guys say you're paid so well, even though you are paid $1 or $2 more to fly 70 seaters instead of 50 seaters.
And yes, a year or two, i would have flown for peanuts, and would love to have been in the regionals. But when i started getting the calls, i went to TSA and refused to go to gojets, even if i had to wait some more (and by the way the industry is, it may have been a few more months).
