Nah, just thought it was odd that Pinnacle adjusted their "no rehire" status for a special case. I actually had no problems with the person in question. I just call it like I see it when I see special treatment involved.

Not to rain on the conspiracy theory here, but that is not Pinnacle's re-hire policy. After you resign, you are only eligible for re-hire one time, contingent on HR approval based on your employment history. When you resign the second time, you are no longer eligible for re-hire. In other words, there was no special treatment there. Pinnacle has re-hired other employees, including line pilots.

Why is Delta buying Pinnacle out of bankruptcy after they just shutdown Comair?

Because the definition of "Airline Management" is doing the same thing over and over again hoping for a different outcome.

They are not buying Pinnacle, they are owner by default. Also, Comair was shutdown because Delta tried to sell it in 2010 and there were no buyers. If there had been a buyer, it would still be around. When Pinnacle is sold in the future, if there are no buyers, it will be shut down as well.

So who wants to buy a regional airline in a regional industry where the model is broke? No one wanted Comair because of its small size and super seniority. 9E is going to run into that same problem after all the -200s are gone.

With 81 Crj-900's and a Captain pay scale topped off at 12 years, to even say we are close to what Comair looked like is just foolish. I would say most regionals will be losing there 50 seat feed and the only way to expand will be buying another regional. Delta will build us up and sell us.
