Default How Desperate is AE?

I am at ATP minimums but will not turn 23 until later this year. I received a call today from AE prescreening me for now, and they said they will be in touch a few months before my birthday to schedule an interview. Are they having this much trouble filling classes?

Not surprising, it's probably easier to convince people to get on the Titanic AFTER it struck an iceberg than to convince people to go to Eagle.

I've read threads on Eagle among the other regionals. Of all the hiring going on right now what makes Eagle so bad compared to the others that allow you to live in the south west US?

@CWS, I got a call from them about a month ago. I am not avail until Sept, so they said, "no problem, call us about a month before you are available". Hopefully that means they hiring well.

Good luck to you!

Oh hey, another thread on Eagle.

Are they desperate? They just announced that they will give TWO free round trip tickets for a student and parent to go visit a school offering a degree in aviation.

American Airlines & American Eagle are proud to sponsor the Dallas/Fort Worth Focus on the Future sessions for students and parents and a Regional Airline Pilot Job Fair for qualified pilots. All CFIs are invited. As part of their goal to offer additional opportunities for students seeking a career as a pilot, American Airlines and American Eagle are providing two free round-trip tickets for a student and parent to visit a college or university offering professional pilot degrees.

Ya once mommy or daddy see's they're gonna be flipping a 200K bill so little Timmy Jr can make 21K a year I bet they wont be to happy anymore...
Then there gonna tell all the kids and parents how its only gonna take a year or two before they go to mainline blah blah... 2007 all over again.. wash repeat.. Ask all those 2007 hire FOs where they are now, what seat their in, and how much they're making 6 years later .
Oh and that professional pilot degree is really gonna help you a lot when your on furlough looking for work... I got an aviation degree back in 99', its basically worthless, because everyday I hear about another person with no college getting interviews at airline X... while me and my college degree drink beer.

AHHHH, that sounds more like it. However, I think that is pretty cool for ANY company to offer that. Aviation is really dying off (general aviation). My airport (KHEF) is pretty dead and the one I am moving to (KLOU) is even worse. Hopefully we can stimulate the kids to enjoy and learn about flying!!

I think it's a good sign they are doing all kinds of things like the signing bonus, pipeline program, job fair flights, and extending the flow through (even if it will never happen)..Plus, I think everyone is as "desperate" as Eagle. It's just that they know they aren't a popular selection right now so they are trying to entice new hires.
