How long have you been in the 121 world? A bust doesn't matter to many.... A history does..... Someone can have a bad day.... Guess not everyone is you..... And to correlate this person to Colgan is just an insult to him and many...... Have some class....

By the way.... I know a guy who busted two 121 PCs.... Maybe more in a previous life.... FO and no TPIC..... Hired at USairways..... Then quit a few moths back and in this same year UAL hired him...... Guess it must really have hurt his chances....

Also just confirmed a formee gojets DUI guy got on with one of the above too..... Not saying I'd want either on my records but for AE to turn their nose to a PPL oral bust or a CSEL practical bust says more about AE then an applicant...... No ones perfect.

Eagle may just be turning away candidates they don't want. Even though Eagle may be desperate, I don't think it means they'll take everyone. Concern with PRIA type stuff might be stronger at Eagle though as before the Colgan accident and those issues, another airline had a disturbing similar accident with all the same issues and was the accident that resulted in PRIA. That airline WAS an American Eagle operator.

It WAS a wholly owned operator - Flagship Airlines - which later was one of the four wholly owned AE carriers to be merged into the present AE. AE has a particular aversion to bust partly because it was one of THEIR captains that failed to disclose busts in his previous flying life and who later crashed a perfectly good Jetstream into the forest. PRIA came about as a result of that accident. I was an FO at AE at the time and remember it well.

i guess that female md-11 f/o at fedex was a non issue with all her previous busts in crosswind landings. maybe that is why she crashed an md-11 in a mild crosswind day.

I was an SD3 captain there when it happened. Remember it well.

American Airlines & American Eagle are proud to sponsor the Dallas/Fort Worth Focus on the Future sessions for students and parents and a Regional Airline Pilot Job Fair for qualified pilots. All CFIs are invited. As part of their goal to offer additional opportunities for students seeking a career as a pilot, American Airlines and American Eagle are providing two free round-trip tickets for a student and parent to visit a college or university offering professional pilot degrees.
That's cool, American offered me a round trip ticket from LGA to MIA to cover some flying complete with a hotel on the beach. I don't know any other airline that would do that.

I think you're issue is you'll jump ship in 6 months when Delta or United start calling. They don't want to invest in someone if they won't get their money back.

I have two busts and was offered a job at every airline I interviewed at including AE. Maybe I just interview well, but of the 14 that showed up to interview at AE that day, only 3 of us made the cut.

Oh yea, at the time I had approx 700 hours and no TPIC.

Out of curiosity, were they 121 busts? AE tends to be very picky on the subject of checkride failures - especially part 121 failures.

Nope, not 121 or 135 rides, which could be why I got to the interview.

dont worry, ae likes to bust 50% in training, this way you do have a 121 bust and difficult to move elsewhere. been a practice here for the last 5 years.
