Blah blah Pinnacle sucks. Blah Blah Blah! You won't get any argument from me or any of the other pilots working here. |

wait.....first you guys whine and moan that the 9e committee stood too strong and asked for too much to protect THEIR pilot groups's seniority, but then you congratulate the Colgan merger group for fighting hard for them??? If our merger committee had said "DOH" 80% of the group would still complain. If they had proposed a staple of Colgan there would be complaints. They get accused of fighting to hard, but had they not, they would be accused of not trying Which is it?????

Shoulda held the line. ATP rule, new rest rules, right when things are starting to turn around, 9E takes concessions. The rest of the DCI regionals will be screwed when Delta comes and says hey Pinnacle can do it cheaper.
Where's the unity? The ALPA brotherhood? Or, is it like I've said all along, just a bunch of feel-good BS, that no ALPA is going to look out for you and nor do pilots look out for others. It is all 100% self-serving interests! No one will care when you get unemployed. ALPA is a joke. Aloha guys, MidEx guys, they got more help from the government unemployment line than ALPA resources to try and get them jobs at other ALPA carriers. When will the regionals realize that ALPA cannot serve them while serving mainline at the same time. Your growth impedes the major airline pilot jobs! And it's in their best interest to screw you, park your planes, and take back their outsourced flying. ALPa cannot represen the BEST interests for BOTH regionals and majors. Their well-being specifically comes at the cost of the other. No FO should have voted for that garbage. So what, preserve a 4th year cap at 37/hr? You an make more at Skywest and pocket an extra 1.95% salary with no ALPA. Hell, you can make more as a McDonalds manager and be home every night. And how ironic. The highest paying, and arguably happiest regional pilot group is non-union Skywest. They figured it out a long time ago. |

Get over it, you are a part of this industry just like everyone else. If you didn't sign up to fly an RJ for whatever measly salary you make then some pilot at a Major would be flying a DC 9 or equivalent airplane for $120 an hour. If you want to assign blame look in the mirror.

Didn't Eagle just vote in a concessionary contract?

No where remotely close to what pinnacle voted in and for the record I feel the same way about every yes voter here as well.

Just because we voted in concessions doesn't mean your pilot group has to. But I guess you would rather have somebody else fall on the sword.

Neat "airline pilot blog" too. If you ever have to match pinnacles offer, you should be able to supplement your income with your blogging skills. So you got that going for you....which is nice. |

Wasn't your union able to stop this kind of atrocity? After all you have a contract, a legally binding document, and you pay 1.95% in representation dues. Oh what, a trip to bankruptcy can toss all that out? And what's this about a company agreeing to a concessionary contract with its pilot group and then not implementing reserve transparency within 4 months as required? The company can basically write to the group "**** you, we aren't really trying, and Flica is too expensive. We'll try and find a way, but don't hold your breath." But you have regional-ALPA and they won't allow that kinda thing.

There's no anger I have a great life besides my job. I don't know you personally but have heard of you flying the line. you just can't let go of anything to do with pinnacle. Pinnacle, Mesaba, or Colgan pilots didn't ask for the merger or parking airplanes. I have flown with all three groups and they are good guys just trying to survive. Everytime I come on here you have a hard on for everything 9E. Why don't you enjoy your wife, the west coast, and VA. I work at pinnacle and think the company blows but the guys I fly with are good guys just trying to get by. I'm sure 80KTS will come on here with the butt hurt form. you need to step away from APC and try to enjoy life without constantly telling us how 9E is the worst regional.
You keep trying to justify your career choices. |
Boy pinecolaba pilots are a bit touchy these days eh?

No we just do not really need another pilot telling us how we should have voted and says thank you for making me take a pay cut in the future. If you do not wish to take the pay cut that vote no and if it passes thank your fellow pilots at your airline and then quit. But I know once you are faced with the choice of pay cut or no job you will blame it on 9E pilots. Even though we were forced to take a pay cut because of other cheap airlines and they were forced because of the same crap. Thinks are not really peachy over here so we really do not want to hear someone spout off about how we have ruined your pay. We are also irritated with ShyGuy having at least 2 or 3 posts per page in every 9E thread.

The fact that you still have a job with super-seniority coming from an airline that doesn't exist. Some of them are even in left seats on RJs. But good for you guys, your merger committee fought the fight and tried to get what's best for you. Unlike 9Es........
Why does this even bother you anymore? |

Truth is, would it really be a positive thing for the industry to have 2,500 furloughed pilots on the street looking for and taking jobs at first year FO pay at another regional? Talk about a major shift backwards in longevity and a massive windfall for mainline management. Time to re-evaluate what would have really been "good" for the industry. I was willing to call Delta's bluff, but many weren't in a place to take that chance on rolling the dice with their careers.
